  • Analysis of sensible and thermochemical seasonal energy storage [Elektronski vir]
Mlakar, Urška, 1995- ; Ristić, Alenka ; Stritih, Uroš
40 % of the final energy is used for heating and cooling of buildings. Of this, as much as 75 % is used in residential buildings. The proportion of energy needed in buildings is relatively high, so ... it is necessary to start using technologies that have low energy consumption, use it efficiently or provide it from renewable sources. One such technology is thermal energy storage, which allows to store excess thermal energy for later use when it is needed. The study presents comparison of two seasonal heat storage systems – sensible (SSHT) and thermochemical (TCHS). In the TRNSYS software environment, we designed two models, one for a building without heat storage and the other with the attached seasonal heat storage, sensible or thermochemical. The TCHS model was calculated with TRNSYS and by Excel, while SSHT by TRNSYS with the Type 342 storage module. The purpose of the study was to compare TCHS and SSHT with the respect to different collector areas and storage volumes, as well to show the percentage of coverage that one heat storage tank can provide compared to another.
