Some parameters optimization for enzymatic epoxidation reaction of sunflower seed oil at atmospheric pressure and 40°C

This paper continues the presentation of aspects for optimization of some parameters in the chemo-emzymatic epoxidation of sunflower oil. It presents a review of epoxidation methods presented in ...literature. The easiest and the best method is epoxidation in the presence of an immobilised lipase when mono- and di-carboxylic acids are converted to proxy acids by reaction with hydrogen peroxide. The other parameters that are optimized for the high conversions of chemo-enzymatic epoxidation of sunflower oil are the volume of hydrogen peroxide and the volume of solvent. Because the better epoxidation takes place when peroxi groups values are higher and iodine values are lower, the statistical influence of the different sources on these values using Anova methods was discussed.
