Implementation of earthquake disaster mitigation strategy in Slovenia - civil engineering aspects [Elektronski vir]

Slovenia is an earthquake-prone country where design ground accelerations of at least 0,1 g are excepted for 475 years return period earthquakes. Seismic hazard is most severe in the most populated ...areas of the country where these values range from0,175 - 0,25 g. Based on the experience obtained in the last decades and following the Law on protection against natural and other disaster of 1994, the Administration for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief of the Republic of Slovenia prepared the earthquake mitigation strategy and earthquake preparedness plan. Within the strategy, general guide-lines for earthquake hazard mitigation and management have been set forth, and improvements of the existing earthqake preparedness program proposed.
