Prvih 20 let šolanja ustnih higienikov v Sloveniji = First 20 years of dental hygienist education in Slovenia

In the year 2021 Dental Hygiene School in Ljubljana was established and in the year 2003 the first generation of dental hygienists started with schooling. In 20 years, 297 dental hygiene students, ...232 women and 65 men were enrolled. In this period, 163 dental hygienists graduated, 132 women and 31 men. In this time 67 dental hygienists have accomplished also the National board exam. In the year 2018, the Slovenian Society of Dental Hygienists was established. The number of dental hygienists in Slovenia is increasing. Consequently, we are expecting that the dental prevention in Slovenia will improve and that the pandemic of periodontal disease will decrease..
