  • Sulphated hemicelluloses - alternative anticoagulants for PET surface modifications [Elektronski vir]
    Strnad, Simona, 1965- ...
The presented research was focused on the chemical modifications of hemicelluloses in order to develop substances with improved anticoagulation properties for functionalization of PET surfaces in ... order to improve materials' hemocompatibility. FTIR spectroscopy was applied for chemical analyses. Anticoagulant properties were investigated using activated partial thromboplastine time (APTT) determination and in-vitro hemocompatibility of PET surfaces were investigated by hemoglobin-release-method. Sulfated hemicelluloses possessed significantly better antithrombotic properties in comparison to non-derivatized samples. The presence of carboxymethyl groups additionally increased samplesć antithrombogenicities. The in-vitro blood-contacting properties determination of functionalized PET surfaces proved that antithrombotic functions of sulfated hemicelluloses were successfully introduced.
