Vpliv psihosocialnih dejavnikov na težave v gibalihSunčič, Stane V.Musculo-sceletal disorder is considered to be an economic and a social problembecause it is widespread, disease diagnostic shows regular absence fromwork and disability. Psychological strains at ... working place are consideredto be on the rise, therefore we wanted to examine if there is interdependence between musculo-sceletal disorder and psychosocial conditions at work. . Males aged between 20 and 40 years were examined, half of them working in paper industry, the other half in retail stores. Standardized Nordic questionnaire was used for evaluation of the difficu(ties of musculo-sceletal system (in lower back, cervical spine and shoulders). Psychosocial pressures (work demand, work support and decision latitude) were evaluated according to the standardized Swedish questionnaire by Theorell. Difficulties in the cervical spine were established by a(most one third of employees, in the lower back by one fifth and in shou(ders by less than one fifth. The employees estimate that there are bigger demands at work, but thereis also decision latitude and that they have more support by their work. Psychological conditions such as anxiety and depression are less apparent. Correlation between psychosocial conditions and musculo-sceletal disorder was established. Work demand and work support are related to the difficulties in the lower back and in the shoulders. No significant correlation between psychosocial conditions and cervical spine was established. Anxiety is relatedto the difficulties in lower back, cervical spine and shoulders. Depression is significantly correlated with the difficulties in lower back. Toreduce the impact of psychosocial factors at work it was recommended to the employer to follow consistently legal, administrative, technical and organizing measures, with emphasis on introduction of education about healthy way of life and work of the employees.Type of material - specialist thesisPublication and manufacture - Ljubljana : [S.V.
