In two independent trials two vaccination programmes against Newcastle disease(ND) in broilers were compared. In both trials birds were immunised with the live attenuated ND vaccine, strain La Sota, ...Pestikal SPF (Pliva d.d.,Zagreb). In the first trial vaccine was administered via drinking water on the 14th day of bird's age, in the second trial one day old birds were divided into three groups and vaccinated by spray one, two or three times, respectively. Low immune response as well as lower body weight in all three groups of birds vaccinated by spray method were registered. Birds vaccinated via drinking water developed acceptable level of immunity. The results of the testing also showed that in optimal conditions vaccination against ND via drinking water do not influence negatively on the health status and productionparameters of the birds.
