Informacijski viri v pridelavi in predelavi hrane ter prehrani = Information sources in agriculture, food technology and nutritionBradač, Jana ...Specializirane informacijske službe in knjižnice na Biotehniški fakulteti se vključujejo v pedagoško, raziskovalno in pospeševalno dejavnost. Svoje storitve: poizvedbe, zagotavljanje primarnega ... gradiva, medbibliotečno izposojo, vodenje bibliografij nudijo domačim in zunanjim uporabnikom. Za sprotno spremljanje novih dosežkov v znanosti s področja pridelave in predelave hrane, prehrane in ekologije uporabljamo tuje podatkovne zbirke na CD-ROMih in disketah. Predstavljene so podatkovne zbirke na CD-ROMih: AGRICOLA,AGRIS, ASFTA, BIOTECHNOLOGY ABSTRACTS, CAB, FOOD AND HUMAN NUTRITION, FSTA, JUSTIS EUROPEAN FOOD LAW, LIFE SCIENCES COLLECTION, PLANTGENECD, SOILCD. Sprottno tedensko spremljanje novosti omogočajo tri serije CURRENT CONTNETS; CC-AGRICULTURAL, BIOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES, CC-LIFE SCIENCES in CC-PHYSICAL, CHEMICAL AND EARTH SCIENCES. Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) je zamenjal klasične knjižnične kataloge in vključuje revijalni in delno knjižni fond večine knjižnic v Sloveniji. V mednarodnem merilu pa se knjižnice vključujejo v AGLINET, AGRIS, CAB in IFIS. Domače podatkovne zbirke zajemajo bibliografije pedagogov in raziskovalcev. Vodimo jih na osebnih računalnikih in na TRIP-u. V teku so konverzije za COBISS, potrebno jih je vsebinsko in terminološko uskladiti. Široka in učinkovita izmenjava informacij je možna le, če imajo uporabniki neposreden dostop do informacijskih virov. Pri današnji stopnji razvoja tehnologije so lahko samo obsežna računalniška omrežja, katerih največje je gotovo INTERNET. INTERNET je množica na učinkovit način med seboj povezanih manjših omrežij. Hkrati pa je to tudi vrsta servisa, ki omogočajo dostop do tekstovnih, slikovnih in multimedijskih informacij, elektronske pošte, prenosa datotek, vodenje znanstvenih konferenc, vse to pa vodi v virtualno knjižnico.Source: Tehnologija, hrana, zdravje.
