  • Virusne okužbe pri transplantirancih : klinična slika in zdravljenje = Viral infections after transplantation : clinical picture and treatment
    Logar, Mateja, 1970-
Infections are a major determinant of the outcome of transplantation. Viral infections incidence varies because of a number of factors. There are three general time frames to consider. In the first ... month after the solid-organ transplantation HSV reactivation predominates among viral infections. From thesecond through the sixth month CMV, EBV, HHV-6, adenovirus and VZV infections become manifest. Beyond the sixth month VZV reactivation, influenzaand CMV retinitis are the most prevalent. There are three time periods after the hematopoetic stem-cell transplantation, as well. RSV infections and HSV reactivation predominate in the first-neutropenic-period. During the phase of the bone marrow reconstitution CMV infections are the mostprominent, followed by HHV-6, VZV, RSV and adenoviral infections. In the late period viral infections are mostly caused by VZV, CMV, RSV and influenza.
