Five samples of limestone from Slovenia, differing mainly macroscopicaly and by structure were exposed to the tests of rapid aging in laboratory. Mass and reflectivity loss of the poleshed surface ...was determined after one year of exposure due the mechanical crumbling out of calcite grains from the surface of the sample and due to leaching of CaCO3. Because of progress of the weathering processes after the second year, measuring of reflectivity was not possible. Distinct differences of mass loss were determined on the investigated limestones. However, reflectivity loss was the same on all examined samples.
