  • Nevrokardiogena refleksna sinkoppa = Neurocardiogenic reflex syncope
    Grad, Anton, 1954-
Syncope is the most frequent case of transient loss of consciousness. Despite being dramatic to the bystanders, a reflex syncope is usually a benign event. Less frequent (cca 20%), but far more ... important as a symptom of a serious heart disease, is cardiogenic syncope. Therefore, the following questions should be answered during diagnostic procedure: (1) is transient loss of consciouness due to syncope; (2) does the patient have a heart disease; (3) does the patient have symptoms or signs of any other disease? ln every patientwith syncope a clinical exam, including measuring blood pressure in supine and standing position, and an EKG should be performed. In the majority of patients this concludes the diagnostic procedure. In every suspision on heart disease the patient should be referred to cardiologist. In unclear casesthe diagnostic head-up tilt-test should be performed.
