    The article describes the screening of colonization with Streptococcus agalactiae (GBS) of pregnant women in the Northern Primorska Region that has been going on since 2000. A brief outline of the ... process of microbiological identification of GBS, the same in both regional microbiological laboratories,is given, and a step-by-step description of procedures from swab taking from the pregnant woman to the laboratory findings, as well as the mostcommon mistakes occurring in these processes.
