  • Antifosfolipidna protitelesa v serumih zdravih otrok in otrok z juvenilnim idiopatičnim artritisom : magistrsko delo
    Avčin, Tadej
Antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL) have been demonstrated in a large spectrum of autoimmune diseases and various infections as well as in a healthy adult population. Among the best studied and ... clinically most widely accepted aPL areanticardiolipin antibodies (aCL) and lupus anticoagulant (LA). Recently, ithas become clear that the majority of autoimmune aPL are directed against `i2 glycoprotein I, and anti-beta2GPI antibodies (anti-beta2GPI) have been associated with the clinical features of the antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). In contrast to the adult population, only few data. are available on the normal values and the frequency of aPL in healthy children. There is some information about the frequency of aCL in children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), but the reason for their occurrence and the exact clinical significance of aCL in JIA have not been entirely clarified. The presence of anti-beta2GPI and LA in JIA, however, have not been previously reported. Our objective was to determine cut-ofi levels of aCL and anti-beta2GPI in apparently healthy children and to compare the frequency of aCL and anti-(32GPI in children with those in blood donors. In addition, we performed a prospective study in order to evaluate the frequency and clinical significance of aCL, anti-beta2GPI and LA in children with JIA. (Abstract truncated at 2000 characters).
