  • Structuring of the information system for distributed manufacturing

    In the paper we focus structuring of the information system to support distributed manufacturing. An attempt to define the agent-based autonomous building blocks as the decision making entities in a ... distributed environment is discussed. On this basis, dynamic structures can be built up and assigned for specific manufacturing objectives. The research is demonstrated in a case study. Here, the functions of process planning and fabrication of components are discussed in more detail. Several autonomous building blocks are defined.
