In sheet metal product development cycle, different techniques for faster and more reliable development process are used. Numerical simulation techniques present a reliable tool for sheet metal ...forming processes prediction and play an important role in establishing and performing concurrent engineering (CE). In some cases numerical simulations cannot eliminate trial and testing completely and therefore the manufacturing of prototypes and testing tools is required with different rapid prototyping (RP) and rapid tooling (RT) techniques. Sometimes the testing performed in the final, conventionally made tools is more cost effective. Laser beam equipment also plays an important role in test production. For successful but low cost CE the optimal combination of mentioned techniques have to be used.
