Samples dyed with different alizarin-mordant combinations were evaluated colorimetrically. The range of hues obtained with alizarin and different mordants is wide. The sample dye with alizarin ...without any mordant is violet, but when chrome is used as a mordant, a redder colour is obtained. The most intensive red is achieved with aluminium. The use of tin or iron results in brown or black colour.
