Model of strategic cutting tool flow in flexible manufacturing system

The tool is one of the key factors in flexible manufacturing systems. Flexibility is defined as the ability to respond effectively to changing circumastnces. A need for wider products scopes and the ...trend towards shorter product life cycles are some factors that make flexibility a top priority issue in the manufacturing strategy. We present a model of production as a cybernetics system consisting of the tools, capital, work-pieces and information flow with feedback loops. The results obtained are able to influence the process of planning and performing production process.
