The new role of technology

The changes in the business environment in the last decade significantly influenced the new product development process. Therefore also the position of the technology, as a part of this process, was ...modified. The never-ending conflict between design and technology function overcame by the new type of product development process which is based on project management principles. This pattern starts to be the key success factor for all processes in the company which are indicated as the most important. The effects can be seen as enormous shortening of the new product launching times which is very noticeable in the automotive industry, electronic industries and other branches where the competitiveness requires fast responses on the market changes.
