  • Experiencing meaning in life and existential frustration among Slovenian high school students
    Masten, Robert
This paper reports on experiences on the meaning in life and existential frustration of high school students in relation to their age, field of study, and their gender. The research included 1.395 ... Slovenian high school students out of which 51,5% were males and 48,5% were females. It was shown that there were no significant difference in experiencing meaning of life regarding gender, year of study and the type of high school, but there was a significant combined impact of year of study and type of school. On the other hand, there were significant differences in experiencing existetntial frustration between different years of study and different types of schools. The highest degree of existential frustration was found in vocational schools and the lowest in upper-secondary schools (gimnazija), while the degree of existential frustration in technical schools was in the middle. The results are interpreted in terms of Frankl's logotherapy and according to the findings of identity development in adolescence.
