Some theoretical aspects of stochastic modeling of heterogeneous media

In this work we concentrate on some theoretical aspects of stochastic modelling of heterogeneous media. The formulation of the resulting stochastic boundary value problem is given in terms of ...external force fields and corresponding boundary conditions which are taken to be deterministic. Special attention is given to the consistent formulation and dtermination of a meso-continuum and its proper incorporation in the formal ensemble averaging principle of the process of homogenization. Certain particular issues regarding the random field theory in connection to the weak and strong formulation of the problem are discussed as well.
