The behaviour of a thread in the stitch formation process

Stich formation represents a dynamic and unstable process and depends on many parameters. Minor changes in initial conditions have an important impact on seam quality. To simulate the thread it is ...necessary to choose the appropriate rheological model and such a model needs to be simple but capable of correctly describing the viscoelastic properties of the thread. The Kevin-Voight rheological model has been chosen for this purpose. The constraints from this model were used for the spring-damper in the program package ADAMS in the simulation of take up lever - sewing thread system.
