  • Time delays of a voltage signal of the magnetic Barkhausen noise on the basis of evaluation of material microhardness [Elektronski vir]
Grum, Janez, 1946- ; Žerovnik, Pavle
A time delay of a voltage signal of the Barkhausen noise is a delay of the maximum amplitude value of a voltage signal with reference to the sine wave of the magnetising current. The size of the time ... delay in the analysis of a given material is affected by the magnetising frequency and the magnetising current that is to say magnetic field strength. The paper will describe results obtained in measurement of time delays of voltage signals, i.e., maximum voltage values of the signal envelope. The investigations were accomplished with specimens made of carbon steel C45E in different heat-treated states. Measurement of the time delays of the voltage signals was carried out under optimum magnetisation conditions. The optimum magnetisation conditions are the ones giving the highest number of voltage jumps in the signal. They are influenced by turns and orientation of magnetic domains.
