Possibilities of tourism developmemnt in commune Oplotnica : diplomska naloga

The topic of my graduation thesis is the commune of Oplotnica with its geographical characteristics, its natural and cultural heritage and its possibilities of tourism development, based on the ...life-style and traditional habits of local people. Due to its favourable location in the north-eastern part of Slovenia at the foot of the southern slopes of Pohorje mountains, the twenty-two settlements of Oplotnica have a great possibility of attracting tourists from Slovenia and abroad. The area boasts with numerous ancient and Roman remains, unique churches, chapels, protected ethnological monuments and other premises. Its rich history, including the craftsmen tradition, could be exploited and revived for tourism purposes. Last but not least, its agriculture, which is based on fruit growing and wine producing, and reflected in its unique cuisine, helps to create the image of such a place that cannot be found anywhere else in Slovenia.
