    Public institutions are important food consumers on the national level as they together with other public sectors consume over 120 million euro per year. This is why it is important to promote the ... use of local produced food in public institutions. For better overview of present practice at food purchasing in institutions and for the development of future solutions observance of market analysis, competition and other analysis is essential. These are the base for the prediction of market condition, estimation of demand and comparison with competition. Our research shows that public institutions already use local grown and produced food; in majority institutions are aware of short supply chains and their benefits and also of local food benefits - quality, healthy, balance, seasonal accessibility with greater nutritional value.
