Kontrastivna analiza rabe anglicizmov v italijanskih in slovenskih publicističnih besedilih s področja gospodarstva : diplomska seminarska naloga

The present thesis analyzes the usage of anglicisms in Italian and Slovene economy news articles. The first part gives a broader view of language borrowing. Firstly, Sapirʼs two types of borrowing, ...the roles a language has in this process and the possible reasons for borrowing are described. Secondly, the anglicism is defined and a comparison between the types of borrowing categories in Italian and Slovene language is made. The paper also presents the socio-cultural aspects of borrowing - the history of English influence on both languages, the role of Italian in the development of economic terms, the lexical influences English has on both languages today and the philologistsʼ attitude towards it. The second part analyzes the English foreign words appearing in Slovene and Italian news articles, the content of which is parallel. The lexemes found are analyzed in terms of number, thematic field and their correspondent lexemes in the native and parallel language. Based on the results, reasons for borrowing are given.
