  • Stress fields around an anisotropic point defect in a quasi-continuum

    An anisotropic point defect which is embedded in a homogeneous, isotropic, non-locally elastic crystal is simulated with the help of the Dirac delta function and a general, constant, at the point of ... action spatially independent second order tensor, describing anisotropies of the defect. In such form the defect retains intrinsic local structure. On the other hand, the surrounding medium exhibits a long range order of interaction in the classical form of non-local elasticity. The resulting equations for displacement fields, stresses, and strains are discussed using the theory of eigenstrains.
