This text is an attempt to understand and explain contemporary technological changes, which take place in the whole world and in Slovenia too, and their influence on changing present spatial ...organization patterns. Considering the fact that recent rapid technological, economical and socio-spatial changes occur, above all, in the developed industrial countries, we devoted the large part of our discussion to the critical analysis of the developmental processes within their framework. Discussing technological changes, we gave special attention to the dynamics and influences of the development of information and telecommunication technologies, which have an impact on the infrastructure as a whole. We took into account urban territorial level. The knowledge, which was acquired with the intensive study of the experiences in the developed countries, served as the basis for the analysis of the situation and developmental tendencies in our country. At the end, a scenario of possible interactions between technological development and the reshaping of built environment in Slovenia, was designed.
