  • Composites produced by modified internal oxidation processes
Anžel, Ivan, inženir metalurgije in materialov
Oxide-dispersion-strengthened copper matrix composites are very attractive as high temperature materials because they show an excellent combination of important properties (high temperature strength, ... microstructural stability, and high electrical and thermal conductivity). The success of the strenthening process and the final properties of the composite at higher temperatures depend very much on the characteristics of dispersed oxide particles. An overall analysis of internal oxidation process in copper matrix composites has shown tht nature of the oxide forming element, the oxidation temperature, the rapidly solidified microstructure and its changing before the oxidation front strongly influence the suitable mechanism of the internal oxidation process that lead to the appropriate microstructure for dispersion strengthening.
