Models of distance learning for textile studies [Elektronski vir]

The paper is giving an overview of the development of a special form of education - the distance learning. Different models, particularities and advantages of this kind of learning when compared to ...the conventional education are described. Using modern internet based concepts, technologies and services, this type of study represents a great potentional also for textile studies. The technologies for effective organisation and execution of the distance learning and their influence on the success of education are described in greater detail. The most important directives of the European Commission, connected with the distance learning are given. The activities of the Centre for Distance Education Development at the University of Maribor aredescribed in the last part of the contribution.
