Introduction of concurrent function deployment method into CE organization in SMEs

This paper describes the procedure of introduction of the Concurrent function deployment (CFD) method into a Concurrent engineering (CE) organization. It shows the benefits of distribution of the ...customer requirements to different houses of values by using the CFD method. CFD method is one of the basic tools of the CE. For this reason the implementation of the method through basic structure of the team work organization in small and medium-sized companies will be presented in this article. The key responsibility of implementation of the CFD method has been assigned to the project team leader who is a permanent member of the variable project team in every CE loop. This article furthermore presents the results of concurrent product and process development that represent the advantages of introduction of the CFD method when compared to the conventional Quality function deployment (QFD) method.
