An intelligent CAD system for designing multi-spindle drilling heads

The design of a gear train of multispindle drilling head, which diverts power from a single input to multiple outputs is not unique task. The choise and elements outlay in practice represents ...andifficult combinatorial problem. Conventionally it can be solved by means of the intuition method, which in lager cases demand a lot of time and experience. It is a very much a "black art". In the folloving article we present an application method of artiffical intelligence solving the drive of multispindle-drilling head. We integrated intelligent search strategies and heuristic informations with CAD system and database of standard parts DIN 69001. On the basis of given requirements and conditions, and System is capable of giving quality near-optimal solution.
