Numerical evaluation of the dynamic method of boiling curve measurement

The study evaluates the suitability of the dynamic boiling curve measurement method for pool boiling performance evaluation. Possible discrepancies due to the quasi-steady-state nature of the method ...involving unsteady heat transfer are investigated using finite volume numerical simulations. The results prove that the differences between the heat flux calculated from temperatures, measured below the surface, and the heat flux actually present on the boiling surface at the same moment are minimal and well within the measurement uncertainty.
