High performance wood coatings for protection of wood in exterior use

When used in exterior, wood must be protected against weathering, fungal infestations and insect attack. Severe environmental legislation induced research efforts to develop new surface coatings and ...wood preservatives with enhanced environmental profile and improved performance. An overview of latest developments in the field of exterior wood coatings is followed by the example of combined protection of wood with the new alkanoamine-boron based biocide and several exterior surface coatings. Promissing performance of this wood protecting system enables its use outdoors.
