  • Secondary, reversible, prerotation and cavitational flows in the radial turbomachines : Elektronski vir
Predin, Andrej, 1961- ; Biluš, Ignacijo
This contribution analyzes the driving mechanisms of secondary, reversible, prerotational and cavitational flows in radial turbomachines. All flows appear at the entrance eye or in the entrance pipe ... of radial turbomachines. The appearance of a cavitation swirl is a result of a complicated secondary flow interaction, which appears as a consequence of the pumps operating at small, underoptimal capacities (at pump operating), or at the high, over-optimal capacities, during turbine operation. This means, that when pump operating, the diffusion term of the transport equation is influential and oppositely when turbine operating the transport part of the Navier-Stokes equation is dominates. This given paper focus es on pump operating mode, where experimental and numerical tests were done at the radial impeller.
