Vrste laparotomij, šivalni material in načini zapore = Laparatomy types, suture material and closing methods

A good approach is fundamental for a successful surgery. It is important to chose a laparatomy which offers a good approach to the operative field; anatomical structure of the abdominal wall and the ...possibility of the elongation of the wound must be considered. The suture materials should keep the strenght as long as the laparotomy is healed up; it is also important to keep the number of tissue reactions and suture fistulas at the minimum. Classical way of closing the laparotomy has been replaced by the one-layer suture, continuous suture and interrupted suture. Supplemental discharging sutures are used in cases of laparatomy after dehiscence, where the danger of developing post-operative hernias is greater.
