Economy and constructional iconism belong to the set of central issues of the Naturalness Theory in its proposal of describing and explaining language. The present paper deals with both natural ... strategies of verbalisation and tests its effectiveness on the special case of oral interpreting. Its major theoretical issue focuses on the complex processes of code switching from source (Slovene/German) to target languages (German/Slovene), whereby the complexity of the final product (the parole) of both target languages is being dealt with primarily. In this respect it has been postulated that the complexity of interpreting processes does not effect the universal and basic principles of iconicity and economy. Yet some specific occurences were presupposed in favour of more frequent use of marked and markful constructions in target languages. The study deals primarily with the linguist realisation of the verbal categories time, mood and voice, as well as the use of prosody. The occurence of non-equivalent solutions has been considered as well. The results of the linguistic analyses confirm the postulations and, thereby supplement the issues of the Naturalness Theory
