  • Analysis of voltage notching in a low-voltage industrial network during the operation of a six-pulse AC/DC converter [Elektronski vir]
    Matvoz, Dejan
Due to their complexity, low-voltage industrial networks are very harsh environments regarding conducted disturbances. Therefore, it can be difficult to ensure electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) in ... such networks. This paper presents a case of voltage notches caused by a six-pulse AC/DC converter in such an industrial network. Six-pulse AC/DC converter powers a blower of a tempering glass machine. Voltage notches caused by the converter are causing different resonant conditions in the network dependent on the operating state of the power correction capacitor banks at the substation. Also dependent on them are voltage notching depth and voltage notching area. All these phenomena are analyzed and evaluated using the limits from the IEC 61000-2-4 and IEEE 519 standards.
