    A digital phase angle generator made by connecting two digital sine generators is described. The generator produces two sine waves that are adjustable in phase, amplitude and frequency, therefore it ... can be used as phase angle calibration standard. In connection with that, we presented high accuracy, high resolution phase angle measurement technique for use with phase verification passive bridges. The measuring procedure is derived in order to remove effects of DC offset, effects of unequal amplitudes, noise and harmonic distortion (that are independent of phase), as well as the unwanted effects of the frequency response of and the loading caused by the detector (RMS voltmeter) connected to the bridge. These bridges are standards for calibration of digital phase angle generators. In other words bridges are compared by use of digital phase generators. Use of the passive phase verification bridges allows direct traceability direct to NIST, without the necessity of the digital phase generator ever leaving the laboratory in which it is used as phase standard.
