The technology for electronic business is obviously evolving. Web services offer a technological basisč however the need for technology, which covers thehigher-level semantics of electronic business, ...particularly the descriptionof business processes and coIlaboration protocol profiles and agreements, is increasing. In this paper, we will compare the two most important technologies, ebXML and RosettaNet, concentrating on their support for end-point description, the orchestration of public processes, private processes, contracts and agreements. We will compare them on each level, describe the characteristics and define criteria for the decision model. With the defined utility function, we will evaluate the technologies, and finally select the most suitable one within the given circumstances.
