  • Sindrom potujočih limfocitov = Passenger lymphocyte syndrome
    Marić, Ivica ; Železnik, Klara
Passenger lymphocyte syndrome is a complication following organ transplantation and bone-marrow stem-cell transplantation, when there is a minor ABO incompatibility bet- ween the donor and the ... recipient. Its main characteristic is the production of antibodies against the recipient's antigens by the donor's B lymphocytes, which are transplanted with the organ. Usually, there is a mild, self-limiting hemolysis that lasts up to three months after transplantation. There is no cure, and usually, there is no need for additional care except for blood transfusions, which must be compatible with the donor's antigens if anemia occurs. Other complications are rare and, in those cases, an individual approach based on the patient's clinical signs is mandated.
