Two hundred twenty-one participants completed The Insomnia Severity Index, Cutaneous Body Image Scale, and subscales of the Sleep Associated Monitoring Index.
The results demonstrated that insomnia symptoms were significantly associated with a greater dissatisfaction with cutaneous body image. Moreover, this relationship was partially mediated by sleep associated monitoring on awakening, but not throughout the day.
These findings provide further understanding of the potential mechanisms underlying negative self-perceptions of physical appearance in insomnia.
Drawing from the S-O-R perspective, this paper proposes a theoretical model explicating the mechanism whereby social media usage functions on customers' engagement in cross-cultural social commerce ...by employing a mixed-method approach including SEM and fsQCA analysis technique. Analysis of the data collected from 135 countries' 2058 international students indicates that social media usage, either for information or socializing purpose, exerts positive effects on international customers' engagement in social commerce through the conduit of cultural identity change, and social support positively moderates the relationships between two dimensions of social media usage and cultural identity change. The analysis of fsQCA further augmented the robust results reached from SEM and identified four types of configurations that trigger customers' engagement in cross-border social commerce. Research implications and limitations are also discussed.

This research aims to provide a picture of the elements influencing customers' intentions to purchase luxury products online using social exchange theory (SET). Second, we determined whether ...perceived enjoyment moderates the relationship between perceived value, consumer attitude, and intention to purchase luxury products. Data were collected from 389 participants through an online survey. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was used to analyze the data. The results showed that eWOM, perceived value, and consumer attitudes significantly affected luxury purchase intention. Moreover, perceived enjoyment moderates the relationship between perceived value, consumer attitude, and purchase intention. This study is designed to help practitioners and researchers understand why young Chinese consumers are interested in purchasing luxury goods online. Luxury brand companies can improve their marketing strategies by developing strategies aligned with the mindset of digital native Generation Z.

Composed of an image and short caption, internet memes visually depict an element of a culture or behavioural system, in a humorous way that contextually relates to a particular demographic. ...Typically, they are rapidly shared, with many variations of the original. Online interaction with internet memes has become a crucial psychosocial aspect of digital culture, which have recently become well established in popular media by consistently maintaining culturally topical and socially salient references. Increasingly, many pages are dedicated to sharing memes related to the symptom experience of specific psychiatric disorders. Despite their popularity, the individual motivation for the observation and sharing of mental health memes remains poorly understood. While several psychiatrists and media outlets perceive internet memes related to mental health difficulties to be associated with adverse consequences, the empirical evidence fails to support this notion. Among individuals experiencing psychiatric difficulties, we explore whether interacting with mental health memes involves adverse consequences, or rather serve as a beneficial coping mechanism. Here, evaluation of the literature indicates that most psychiatrically vulnerable individuals report positive experiences when engaging with such memes. More specifically, they are perceived to facilitate a humorous take on a negative experience and situation, and the perception of peer-support through social bonds with others experiencing similar symptoms. While mental health memes typically depict dark and negative humour, their proximal nature to those experiencing psychiatric symptoms may be considered contextually positive. As such, to conclude, we discuss the role of contextual humour in facilitating cognitive reappraisal of negative thoughts and experiences. Furthermore, we set an agenda to address key methodological limitations of existing work while providing suggestions for future research.
The COVID-19 pandemic and the continuous advancement of live e-commerce technology pushed the swift growth of live e-commerce in China. Based on the S–O–R theoretical framework, this study ...investigates the impact of live broadcast characteristics on consumers’ social presence and flow experience, along with their impact on the consumers’ consumption intention in live e-commerce scenarios through questionnaires. Using structural equation modeling, data processing and involvement were introduced as regulating variables. Host charm, interaction, and trust in the host exerted a significant positive impact on social presence. In addition, host charm and trust in host significantly affected flow experience, and social presence significantly affected flow experience. Both social presence and flow experience significantly affected consumption intention, while involvement affected all paths to some extent. Overall, this study illustrates the significance of host in live e-commerce, and consumers with low involvement should be the focus of attention in live e-commerce.

The evidence base concerning the relationship between loneliness and the perception of facial cues of emotion remains mixed. This study further examined the categorisation accuracy, and perceived emotional intensity and emotional valence of facial expressions of emotion in adults displaying high, medium, and low levels of loneliness, whilst controlling for symptoms of insomnia anxiety and depression. Using the University of California Loneliness Scale, participants were stratified into those experiencing high (N = 83), medium (N = 97), and low levels (N = 93) of loneliness. Observing facial expressions of emotion from the Karolinska Directed Emotional Faces database, participants were assessed on their categorisation accuracy and ratings of emotional intensity and valence. After controlling for comorbid psychiatric symptoms, the experience of loneliness was characterised by: positively valanced ratings of angry and sad faces; difficulties in the identification of, and blunted ratings of emotional intensity and valance of happy faces. The outcomes present psychosocial implications for individuals experiencing loneliness.

This study examined whether individuals experiencing significant depressive symptoms would differ from non-depressed controls in their interpretation of internet memes related to depression, whilst ...incorporating the mediating role of emotion regulation difficulty. Forty-three individuals presenting clinically significant depressive symptoms (indicating ≥15 on the PHQ-9) and 56 non-depressed controls (indicating ≤4) rated the emotional valance, humour, relatability, shareability, and mood improving potential of 32 depressive and control (depicting general neutral or positive social commentaries) internet memes. Measures of depression and emotion dysregulation were also completed. The perception of humour, relatability, shareability and mood improving potential of depressive, but not control, memes were all greater amongst individuals with symptoms of depression relative to controls. However, these differences were mediated by deficits in the ability to deploy adaptive emotion regulation strategies. Despite their negative orientation, internet memes related to depression may be beneficial for individuals experiencing consistent symptoms. Specifically, by potentially facilitating: a humorous take on a negative experience and situation; the perception of peer-support through affiliation with others experiencing similar symptoms; and adaptive emotion regulation strategies amongst those with deficits in the ability to deploy such strategies.

The present study examined the concurrent and longitudinal relationships between multidimensional perfectionism, perceived stress, and self-critical thinking in a sample of UK university students. Specifically, to determine whether self-critical thinking at baseline mediated the longitudinal relationship between baseline perfectionism and future stress at follow-up. At baseline, N=220 students completed measures of multidimensional perfectionism, perceived stress, and self-critical thinking, whereas N=84 completed the same measures at follow-up. Socially prescribed, and self-oriented perfectionism were related to increased stress, self-hatred, and self-inadequacy at baseline. Longitudinal analysis revealed that baseline self-oriented and socially prescribed perfectionism were significantly related to increased reports of stress and self-critical thinking fifteen weeks later at follow-up. More crucially, multiple mediation analysis found self-hatred and inadequacy at baseline mediated the longitudinal relationship between baseline perfectionism and perceived stress at follow-up. Perfectionistic and self-critical thinking appears to accentuate the experience of perceived stress in the university student population. Student-based interventions to reduce self-critical thinking may prove beneficial in preventing the onset of perceived stress.

The purpose of this study is to assess how information and communication technology (ICT) adoption influences organizational performance (OP) during the Covid-19 pandemic by highlighting psychometric ...variables such as employees’ organizational commitment (OC), growth mindset (GM), and entrepreneurial orientation (EO). Based on the complementarity theory, we built a theoretical framework where OC, GM, and EO mediate the influence of ICT on OP and tested hypotheses proposed. Responses of 297 employees from agriculture cooperatives in Côte d’Ivoire were obtained on the basis of questionnaires which composed the data for this study. The empirical analysis affirmed the significant and positive effect of ICT adoption on OP, and the significant mediating effect of OC and GM in the relationship between ICT adoption and OP. However, the role of EO in mediating the influence of ICT adoption on OP is insignificant. This research increases understanding of the underlying process of the relationship between ICT adoption and organizational performance during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of workforce diversity management on employee job performance in the Chinese organizational context, considering the mediating effect of ...person-job match and employee commitment and the moderating effect of structural empowerment. Data were collected from 400 telecommunication sector employees in China. All hypotheses were tested through structural equation modeling (SEM). The findings of the study illustrated that workforce diversity management has a positive and significant impact on employee job performance. Furthermore, the results indicated that person-job match and employee commitment partially mediate the relationship between workforce diversity management and employee job performance. Moreover, structural empowerment directly affects employee job performance, whereas a moderating effect is also found in the relationship between workforce diversity management and employee job performance. Finally, implications and limitations are discussed.
