Tumor-treating fields (TTFields) is a novel treatment modality for malignant solid tumors, often employing electric field simulations to analyze the distribution of electric fields on the tumor under ...different parameters of TTFields. Due to the present difficulties and high costs associated with reproducing or implementing the simulation model construction techniques, this study used readily available open-source software tools to construct a highly accurate, easily implementable finite element simulation model for TTFields. The accuracy of the model is at a level of 1 mm
. Using this simulation model, the study carried out analyses of different factors, such as tissue electrical parameters and electrode configurations. The results show that factors influncing the distribution of the internal electric field of the tumor include changes in scalp and skull conductivity (with a maximum variation of 21.0% in the treatment field of the tumor), changes in tumor conductivity (with a maximum variation of 157.8% in th
Aiming at the problem that the forward solution of Stewart platform′s position and posture is difficult to have both high accuracy and real-time,it is the key to study the kinematics of parallel ...platform to design a forward solution method that meets the requirements of platform accuracy and minimum calculation time.Firstly, the platform kinematics inverse solution model was established to obtain the training set of BP neural network.Secondly, the step size strategy was adjusted and the inertia weight was introduced to improve the beetle antennae search algorithm to promote the performance of the algorithm. The initial weight threshold of BP neural network was optimized through the improved algorithm, and the training was repeated to the minimum error. Finally,a section of posture change was selected for simulation verification. The simulation results show that the maximum position and posture error of the IBAS-BPNN forward solution method in the selected 100 groups of points is less than 0.6%,and the calculation t
The discovery of bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) has stimulated widespread research enthusiasm because of their technological promise for practical applications and scientific importance in ...understanding glass formation and glass phenomena. Arising from their disordered atomic structure and unique glass-to-supercooled liquid transition, BMGs represent a new class of structural and functional materials with extraordinary properties including extreme strength at low temperature and high flexibility at high temperature, along with a number of superior chemical and physical properties. This article covers the general properties of BMGs based on a review of the historical milestones in metallic glass research, and recent progress on several fundamental issues in the development of a comprehensive understanding of the strength, ductility and glass-forming ability of BMGs and, more importantly, the correlation of these parameters with atomic structure, focusing on the outstanding questions and critical issues that appear to warrant future research. Recent advances in the applications of BMGs in microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), biomedicine and nanotechnology are also reviewed.
Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of TM9SF3 in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). Methods TCGA and GEPIA databases were used to screen the differentiallyexpressed TM9SF ...family molecules and analyze their effects on patient prognosis with LUAD. The expression and localization of TM9SF3 in LUAD patients were verified by a human proteomic mapping database, Western blot assay, and polymerase chain reaction assay. Herein, the GSEA was used for the signal pathway enrichment analysis of TM9SF3-related genes. Meanwhile, the TIMER database and CIBERSORT algorithm were used to analyze the correlation between differentially-expressed TM9SF3 and the degree of immune cell infiltration. Results The expression of TM9SF3 in LUAD was significantly increased and had a significant adverse effect on the prognosis of LUAD patients. In addition, immunoblotting and polymerase chain reaction confirmed that TM9SF3 was highly expressed in LUAD. Meanwhile, the genes related to TM9SF3 expression were mainly enri
Objective Slug flow is one of the main gas-liquid two-phase flow regimes. Its fluctuation characteristics not only impact the safe operation of multi-phase pumps and the measurement accuracy of ...multi-phase flowmeters but also arouse flow-induced vibrations in various pipeline sectors, such as elbows, valves, and places where pipelines are connected in parallel. Therefore, conducting a systematic study on fluctuation frequencies induced by slug flow is of utmost importance for securing the operation safety of these pipelines and associated fittings. Methods By leveraging the dynamics model of slug flow and recognizing the inherent continuity wave characteristics of slug flow, a novel continuity wave model was developed. This model employed the Strouhal number to characterize the dimensionless fluctuation frequencies induced by slug flow. Through extensive literature investigations, existing empirical calculation models for fluctuation frequencies induced by slug flow in horizontal pipelines were summarized
Objective To investigate the effects of nucleotide binding oligomerization domain-like receptor family caspase recruitment domain containing 3 (NLRC3) on the proliferation, migration and invasion of ...human colon cancer HCT116 and LoVo cells. Methods NLRC3 was knocked down in HCT116 and LoVo cells by NLRC3-specific siRNA (si-NLRC3). NLRC3 mRNA and protein expression was detected by real-time quantitative PCR and Western blotting. The proliferation ability of cancer cells was detected by CCK-8 assay; the clone formation ability was detected by clone formation assay; the invasion ability was detected by Transwell
assay; the migration ability was detected by cell scratch healing assay. Results The transfection of si-NLRC3 down-regulated the expression of NLRC3 in HCT116 and LoVo cells. After NLRC3 knockdown, the proliferation and invasion ability of colon cancer cells were significantly strengthened and the cell migration was not significantly changed. Conclusion Knockdown of NLRC3 in HCT116 and LoVo cells can enh
To explore the clinical characteristics and genetic etiology of a child with multiple pterygium syndrome (MPS).
A child with MPS who was treated at the Orthopedics Department of Guangzhou Women and ...Children's Medical Center Affiliated to Guangzhou Medical University on August 19, 2020 was selected as the study subject. Clinical data of the child was collected. Peripheral blood samples of the child and her parents were also collected. Whole exome sequencing (WES) was carried out for the child. Candidate variant was validated by Sanger sequencing of her parents and bioinformatic analysis.
The child, an 11-year-old female, had a complain of "scoliosis found 8 years before and aggravated with unequal shoulder height for 1 year". WES results revealed that she has carried a homozygous c.55+1G>C splice variant of the CHRNG gene, for which both of her parents were heterozygous carriers. By bioinformatic analysis, the c.55+1G>C variant has not been recorded by the CNKI, Wanfang data knowledge service platform and HGMG
