Sentiment Analysis is the task of automatically discovering the exact sentimental ideas about a product (or service, social event, etc.) from customer textual comments (i.e. reviews) crawled from ...various social media resources. Recently, we can see the rising demand of aspect-based sentiment analysis, in which we need to determine sentiment ratings and importance degrees of product aspects. In this paper we propose a novel multi-layer architecture for representing customer reviews. We observe that the overall sentiment for a product is composed from sentiments of its aspects, and in turn each aspect has its sentiments expressed in related sentences which are also the compositions from their words. This observation motivates us to design a multiple layer architecture of knowledge representation for representing the different sentiment levels for an input text. This representation is then integrated into a neural network to form a model for prediction of product overall ratings. We will use the representation learning techniques including word embeddings and compositional vector models, and apply a back-propagation algorithm based on gradient descent to learn the model. This model consequently generates the aspect ratings as well as aspect weights (i.e. aspect importance degrees). Our experiment is conducted on a data set of reviews from hotel domain, and the obtained results show that our model outperforms the well-known methods in previous studies.

Ethanol steam reforming (ESR) is one of the potential processes to convert ethanol into valuable products. Hydrogen produced from ESR is considered as green energy for the future and can be an ...excellent alternative to fossil fuels with the aim of mitigating the greenhouse gas effect. The ESR process has been well studied, using transition metals as catalysts coupled with both acidic and basic oxides as supports. Among various reported transition metals, Ni is an inexpensive material with activity comparable to that of noble metals, showing promising ethanol conversion and hydrogen yields. Additionally, different promoters and supports were utilized to enhance the hydrogen yield and the catalyst stability. This review summarizes and discusses the influences of the supports and promoters of Ni‐based catalysts on the ESR process.

The overspread of the novel coronavirus—SARS-CoV-2—over the globe has caused significant damage to manufacturing and service businesses, regardless of whether they are commercial, public, or ...not-for-profit sectors. While both the short-term and long-term impacts of most companies can be approximately measured or estimated, it is challenging to address the enduring effects of COVID-19 on teaching and learning activities. The target of this research is to investigate students’ manners of studying at home during the school suspension time as a result of COVID-19. Through analyzing original survey data from 420 K6–12 students in Hanoi, Vietnam, this work demonstrates the different learning habits of students with different socioeconomic statuses and occupational aspirations during the disease’s outbreak. In particular, we featured the differences in students’ learning behaviors between private schools and public schools, as well as between students who plan to follow STEM-related careers and those who intend to engage in social science-related careers. The empirical evidence of this study can be used for the consideration of the local government to increase the sustainability of coming policies and regulations to boost students’ self-efficacy, as it will affect 1.4 million students in Hanoi, as well as the larger population of nearly 10 million Vietnamese students. These results can also be the foundation for future investigations on how to elevate students’ learning habits toward Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4)—Quality Education—especially in fanciful situations in which the regular school operation has been disrupted, counting with limited observation and support from teachers and parents.

The purpose of the present study is to investigate dynamic response and vibration of composite double curved shallow shells with negative Poisson's ratios in auxetic honeycombs core layer on elastic foundations subjected to blast and damping loads using analytical solution. This study considers composite double curved shallow shells with auxetic core which have three layers in which the top and bottom outer skins are isotropic aluminum materials; the central layer has honeycomb structure using the same aluminum material. Based on the first order shear deformation theory (FSDT) with the geometrical nonlinear in von Karman and using Airy stress functions method, Galerkin method and the fourth-order Runge–Kutta method, the resulting equations are solved to obtain expressions for nonlinear motion equations. The effects of geometrical parameters, material properties, elastic foundations Winkler and Pasternak, the nonlinear dynamic analysis and vibration of double curved shallow shells with negative Poisson's ratios in auxetic honeycombs core layer are studied.

The building sector is the largest energy consumer accounting for 40% of global energy usage. An energy forecast model supports decision-makers to manage electric utility management. Identifying ...optimal values of hyperparameters of prediction models is challenging. Therefore, this study develops a novel time-series Wolf-Inspired Optimized Support Vector Regression (WIO-SVR) model to predict 48-step-ahead energy consumption in buildings. The proposed model integrates the support vector regression (SVR) and the grey wolf optimizer (GWO) in which the SVR model serves as a prediction engine while the GWO is used to optimize the hyperparameters of the SVR model. The 30-min energy data from various buildings in Vietnam were adopted to validate model performance. Buildings include one commercial building, one hospital building, three authority buildings, three university buildings, and four office buildings. The dataset is divided into the learning data and the test data. The performance of the WIO-SVR was superior to baseline models including the SVR, random forests (RF), M5P, and decision tree learner (REPTree). The WIO-SVR model obtained the highest value of correlation coefficient (R) with 0.90. The average root-mean-square error (RMSE) of the WIO-SVR was 2.02 kWh which was more accurate than those of the SVR model with 10.95 kWh, the RF model with 16.27 kWh, the M5P model with 17.73 kWh, and the REPTree model with 26.44 kWh. The proposed model improved 442.0-1207.9% of the predictive accuracy in RMSE. The reliable WIO-SVR model provides building managers with useful references in efficient energy management.

Pharmaceutical manufacturers in Vietnam are producing a wide variety of antibiotics for human and veterinary use. Consequently, the water discharged from those facilities can contain residues of ...antibiotics, which could have adverse impact on the environment. However, studies on the occurrence of antibiotics in the wastewater from pharmaceutical manufacturers in Vietnam are almost non-existent. In this study, water samples were collected at around the outlets of four pharmaceutical manufacturing plants as well as from a hospital and an aquaculture farm around Hanoi in 2016 and 2017. Fifteen antibiotics from four major classes (β-lactam, quinolones, macrolides, sulfonamides) were monitored, using a validated LC-MS/MS method, based on their number of registrations at the Ministry of Health. Ten antibiotics, ampicillin, cefuroxime, cefotaxime, clarithromycin, azithromycin, sulfamethoxazole, trimethoprim, ofloxacin, norfloxacin, and ciprofloxacin were detected in the samples at different concentrations. Notably, sulfonamides and quinolones were occasionally detected at very high concentration, such as sulfamethoxazole (252 μg/L), trimethoprim (107 μg/L), ofloxacin (85 μg/L), and ciprofloxacin (41 μg/L). In this study, concentrations of antibiotic residues in effluent of pharmaceutical plants were higher than those from other sources. The antibiotic-resistance tests indicated the widespread resistance to common antibiotics like quinolone and sulfonamides in the collected samples. This finding suggests that wastewater from pharmaceutical manufacturers could be an important source of antibiotics and antibiotic-resistant bacteria in the aquatic environment of Vietnam.

In the context of the thriving real estate market in developing countries like Vietnam, understanding consumer preferences and effectively addressing them through a comprehensive multi-criteria ...decision-making (MCDM) framework is paramount for real estate providers. This study presents a two-stage MCDM model that integrates the Delphi technique and the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) based on Spherical Fuzzy Sets (SFSs). Initially, the SF-Delphi technique validates critical criteria influencing customers' apartment selection in Vietnam. Secondly, the SF-TOPSIS method evaluates the top ten apartment providers. To ensure robustness and validity, a comparative analysis compares the results with those from the Intuitionistic Fuzzy TOPSIS (IF-TOPSIS) and Fuzzy TOPSIS (F-TOPSIS) methods. Subsequently, five rank correlation coefficients (Spearman, Kendall, Goodman-Kruskal, Weighted rank measure of correlation, Weighted Similarity) are used to assess the relationships between various TOPSIS techniques applied to apartment suppliers in Vietnam. The correlation coefficients demonstrate strong agreement among the TOPSIS methods, with the smallest coefficient being 0.7778, surpassing the threshold of 0.7. This high level of consistency confirms the efficacy of the proposed TOPSIS approach with different Fuzzy Sets in reliably evaluating customers' preferences for apartment suppliers. Notably, the legal aspect's prominence underscores its critical role in shaping customer choices, emphasizing the significance of considering legal factors in the context of apartment supply and demand in Vietnam. Furthermore, using SFSs makes this approach particularly suited to capture consumer perceptions within the dynamic and uncertain business environment characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity (VUCA).

Sugarcane is one of the most important industrial crops in Vietnam and covers a total of 127,000 hectares of plantation area. In the season 2020–2021, Vietnam has produced 0.763 million tons of sugar ...(accounting for 0.34% total world sugar production). A current sugarcane production of 7.498 million tons is being used mainly for sugar production for direct consumption, ethanol production, bio-electricity and fertilization. To ensure crop sustainability, various policies and plans have been implemented. Crop breeding and zoning improvement programme significantly influence sugarcane production and sugar yield. Over 25 years since the programme “one million ton of sugar” was promoted, Vietnam currently possesses 25 sugar mills with a total capacity of 110,000 tons of sugarcane per day. Major problems of sugarcane industry as well as research and development have been discussed in this review. Recent research and development work focused on the added values of co-products to ensure sustainability of the sugarcane industry. Molasses will be used for ethanol production, and bagasse is used as the biomass for the alternative energy. Sugarcane and sugar would be the main feedstocks for those bio-economy growths in Vietnam. To keep the sustainable development of the sugar industry, and to meet the demand of the food and non-food requirements, it is necessary to upgrade the sugar value chain through the adoption and the development of co-products of the sugar industry.

Central nervous system (CNS) infection is a serious neurologic condition, although the etiology remains unknown in >50% of patients. We used metagenomic next-generation sequencing to detect viruses ...in 204 cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) samples from patients with acute CNS infection who were enrolled from Vietnam hospitals during 2012-2016. We detected 8 viral species in 107/204 (52.4%) of CSF samples. After virus-specific PCR confirmation, the detection rate was lowered to 30/204 (14.7%). Enteroviruses were the most common viruses detected (n = 23), followed by hepatitis B virus (3), HIV (2), molluscum contagiosum virus (1), and gemycircularvirus (1). Analysis of enterovirus sequences revealed the predominance of echovirus 30 (9). Phylogenetically, the echovirus 30 strains belonged to genogroup V and VIIb. Our results expanded knowledge about the clinical burden of enterovirus in Vietnam and underscore the challenges of identifying a plausible viral pathogen in CSF of patients with CNS infections.

In international trade, exporters prefer to receive payments as quickly as possible, and importers want to make payments as late as possible. In this respect, the payment field, an essential ...condition for trade transactions, also represents the positions of exporters and importers conflict. In addition, there are many cases in which various variables must be considered rather than only one specific variable representatively affecting payment, particularly in the case of import-export Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) from emerging countries. A selection of proper payment methods can be categorized as a Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) issue. Therefore, this study aims to propose a novel and efficient Spherical Fuzzy Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment based Entropy Objective Weighting method (SF-EW and WASPAS-SF) to evaluate international payment methods with uncertain information. First, SF-EW model is applied to determine the relative weights of critical factors. Second, international payment method alternatives are prioritized by the WASPAS-SF approach. Five essential factors for four international payment methods are proposed based on experts’ opinions and the existing literature. A real-world case study from Vietnamese import-export SMEs is presented to validate the applicability of the proposed framework. The results indicated that “Characteristics of payment method (PA)” had the most significant impact on international payment method selection. In comparison, “Letters of Credit (L/C)” was the most reliable payment method with the highest ranking available to international traders. Furthermore, a sensitivity analysis was performed to examine the validity and robustness of the proposed decision support model. Consequently, this study could contribute to international payment services and in the context of globalization and international trade.
