The extinction of bees is a real challenge for the world ecosystem. It is estimated that honey bees pollinate about 80% of all flowering plants, including more than 130 types of fruits and ...vegetables, therefore, the extinction of honey bees could lead to the change of the whole biological chain. In this research, the danger of bee destruction and its consequences are discussed. Parallels are drawn between modern technical and conceptual solutions to the problem. The result of the research is the design project of a pollinating device developed by the group of specialists from NUACA (National, University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia), as a real technical solution to the problem mentioned above. The main characteristic features such as bionic and technical solutions of the device are presented as well. The predicted results of the device implementation are discussed.
The exciton states and their influence on the optical absorption spectrum of CdSe and PbS nanoplatelets (NPLs) are considered theoretically in this paper. The problem is discussed in cases of strong, ...intermediate, and weak size quantization regimes of charge carrier motion in NPLs. For each size quantization regime, the corresponding potential that adequately describes the electron–hole interaction in this mode of space quantization of charge carriers is chosen. The single-particle energy spectra and corresponding wave functions for strong intermediate and weak size quantization regimes have been revealed. The dependence of material parameters on the number of monolayers in the sample has been considered. The related selection rules and the dependence of the absorption coefficient on the frequency and polarization direction of the incident light wave were obtained. The interband transition threshold energy dependencies were obtained for each size quantization regime. The effect of dielectric coefficient mismatch and different models of electron–hole interaction potentials have been studied in CdSe and PbS NPLs. It is also shown that with an increase in the linear dimensions of the structure, the threshold frequency of absorption decreases. The binding energies and absorption coefficient results for NPL with different thicknesses agree with the experimental data. The values of the absorption exciton peaks measured experimentally are close to our calculated values for CdSe and PbS samples.
Chronic cholangiopathies have limited therapeutic options and represent an important indication for liver transplantation. Curcumin, the yellow pigment of the spice turmeric, has pleiotropic actions ...and attenuates hepatic damage in animal models of chemically-induced liver injury. Whether curcumin has beneficial effects in cholangiopathies is unknown.
Potential anticholestatic, anti-inflammatory and antifibrotic mechanisms of curcumin were explored in vivo in Mdr2(-/-) mice as a murine model of chronic cholangiopathy; as well as in vitro in a cholangiocyte cell line (HuCCT1) and portal myofibroblasts (MFBs) isolated from Mdr2(-/-) mice.
Liver damage, cholestasis and fibrosis were reduced in Mdr2(-/-) mice after curcumin feeding. Moreover, curcumin inhibited cholangiocyte proliferation and expression of activation marker vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 in Mdr2(-/-) mice. Curcumin-similar to PPARgamma synthetic agonist troglitazone-directly inhibited TNF-alpha-induced inflammatory activation of cholangiocytes in vitro, whereas these beneficial effects of curcumin were largely blocked by a PPARgamma synthetic antagonist. In addition, curcumin blocked proliferation and activation of portal MFBs by inhibiting ERK1/2 phosphorylation, thus contributing to reduced fibrogenesis.
These results show that curcumin may have multiple targets in liver including activation of PPARgamma in cholangiocytes and inhibition of ERK1/2 signalling in MFBs, thereby modulating several central cellular events in a mouse model of cholangiopathy. Targeting these pathways may be a promising therapeutic approach to cholangiopathies.
The application of reclamation measures to improve the state and increase the fertility of irrigated secondary saline and solonetzic meadow-brown soils (Anthrosols) of the Ararat Plain is ...substantiated. The indices of soil fertility determining the yield of the main crops were studied. According to monitoring studies, the economic efficiency of different crops was estimated. It is shown that the income from the yield of winter wheat, alfalfa, vegetables, and melons on the soils without salinization and alkalization increases by 2, 2.7, 4.2, and 13.7 times, respectively. The following reclamation measures to improve the ameliorative state of the studied soils are proposed: cultivation of alfalfa, application of gypsum in doses of 12–64 t/ha, and washing of the soil with irrigation water; the amount of water in this case has to be increased by 1.5 times in comparison with the norm. The economic assessment of the proposed reclamation measures is given. The obtained results can be implemented in the farms of Armavir and Ararat regions of Armenia.

The current article attempts to denote the relationship between the regulatory purpose of politics and law, which form coherent power as a dialectical unity of political power interested in the legal ...legitimation of its status and legal power, appealing to the power represented by the state, on the one hand, and their denial of each other as the embodiment of the paradigms of efficiency (politics) and legitimation (law), on the other hand. To meet that aim, general scientific (dialectical, comparative, historical-genetic, structural-functional), and also specific scientific (specific-sociological, formal-logical, historical-legal, comparative jurisprudence) methods are taken into consideration. Given the results of the study, the efficiency paradigm is determined by the factor of result, and the legitimation paradigm is determined by the factor of process. The interaction of these paradigms gives rise to an antinomic contradiction, which is an attributive characteristic of the political and legal regulation of social processes.

In this work the reduction mechanisms of molybdenum oxide by single (Mg, Zn, C) and complex (Mg/C, Mg/Zn) reducers are reported. It is revealed that in the case of Mg and Zn the reduction undergoes ...before Mg/Zn melting, i.e. by solid-state mechanism. Unlike these systems, in the case of carbon, a stepwise reduction takes place. First stage (<600°C) is exothermic and corresponds to MoO3→MoO2 reaction; next one is endothermic reduction (>900°C) of MoO2 to the mixture of Mo and Mo2C. When combined reducer is used, such as Zn/Mg, then before reduction process the Zn melts and reduction takes place by liquid–solid mechanism. In this case apart MoO2 (and MgO∗MoO2) MgZn2 also is formed. When the MoO3 is reduced by Mg/C mixture, the reduction process starts by carbon at 520–650°C forming MoO2. Next the Mg melts and molten Mg reduces MoO2 yielding Mo. Based on the results obtained by DTA/TGA investigations the effective activation energy values are calculated for reduction stages for all studied mixtures.

In the effective mass approximation, single-particle, excitonic states, and interband and intraband transitions in CdSe nanoplatelet are considered in the presence of an external axial uniform ...electrostatic field. It has been demonstrated that under the influence of the field, the binding energy between the electron and the hole in the nanoplatelet decreases compared to the case in the absence of the field. It is shown that with increasing electric field strength, the resonant frequencies of interband electroabsorption undergo a red shift. On the other hand, the resonance frequencies of intraband absorption shift to the region of high energies. A similar shift of photoluminescence spectrum peaks under the influence of the field has been observed. The results of theoretical calculations of the luminescence threshold frequency values are in good agreement with the corresponding experimental data. It is shown that the dependence of the optical rectification peaks on the external field is non-monotonic with pronounced maxima.

In this work we first time investigate the reaction mechanism and possibility of synthesizing NiAl intermetallic compound under the activated combustion mode. A halogen containing organic polymer, ...namely, polytetrafluoroethylene – PTFE is used as promoter. It is shown that the single-phase target product is obtained when amount of the promoter is 0.1%. Differential thermal (DTA), thermogravimetric (TG) and XRD analyses testify that reaction proceeds stepwise. It is shown that in first stage decomposition products of PTFE remove the oxide film from Al particles; then follows reaction between Ni and pure Al. This reaction undergoes two different modes. First the solid-state reaction takes place, then Al melts and reaction continues between solid Ni and molten Al. It is established that the increase in the promoter amount higher than 1% shifts kinetic activation mode to thermal-kinetic mode. The latter leads to misbalance of green mixture and formation of undesired by-products. The optimal conditions of chemically activated synthesis for NiAl intermetallic are established.
