We investigate high-quality single-domain crystals of YbB12 using the precise x-ray diffraction technique in combination with the low-temperature polarized THz-infrared spectroscopy and accurate ...magnetotransport measurements. It is shown for the first time that this archetypal strongly correlated system with a metal-insulator transition to a mysterious dielectric ground state with a metal Fermi surfaceScience 362,65(2018)and ibid 362,32(2018)is actually a heterogeneous compound in the regime of electronic phase separation.Changes in the configuration of the discovered dynamic charge stripes are proposed upon cooling. As a result,a conclusion is drawn in favor of a crossover between different patterns of the filamentary electronic structure penetrating the semiconducting matrix of YbB12.We argue that the discovery of stripes in YbB12 is fundamental, elucidating the nature of exotic dielectric state in Kondo insulators.
Recently, we described a novel 3-pS Ca 2+ -conducting channel that is activated by BAPTA and thapsigargin-induced passive depletion of intracellular Ca 2+ stores and likely to be a native ...store-operated channel in vascular smooth muscle cells (SMC). Neither Ca 2+ nor inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate or other second messengers tested activated this channel in membrane patches excised from
resting SMC. Here we report that these 3-pS channels are activated in inside-out membrane patches from SMC immediately upon
application of Ca 2+ influx factor (CIF) extracted from mutant yeast, which has been previously shown to activate Ca 2+ influx in Xenopus oocytes and Ca 2+ release-activated Ca 2+ current in Jurkat cells. In bioassay experiments depletion of Ca 2+ stores in permeabilized human platelets resulted in the release of endogenous factor, which activated 3-pS channels in isolated
inside-out membrane patches excised from SMC and exposed to permeabilized platelets. The same 3-pS channels in excised membrane
patches were also activated by acid extracts of CIF derived from human platelets with depleted Ca 2+ stores, which also stimulated Ca 2+ influx upon injection into Xenopus oocytes. Specific high pressure liquid chromatography fractions of platelet extracts were found to have CIF activity when
injected into oocytes and activate 3-pS channels in excised membrane patches. These data show for the first time that CIF
produced by mammalian cells and yeast with depleted Ca 2+ stores directly activates native 3-pS cation channels, which in intact SMC are activated by Ca 2+ store depletion.

Introduction. mBRAF mCRC has the aggressive phenotype. The incidence of such mutation in Europe and the USA is around 8–14%, in Asian countries – 4–8%. The purpose of this population-based study was ...to determine the incidence and identifying prognostic factors in pts with mBRAF mCRC in Russia. Materials and methods. A multicenter retrospective analysis of clinical data and treatment results of pts with mBRAF mCRC was performed. The main method for determining mutations was a PCR. The main efficacy endpoint was progression free survival (PFS) at the 1 st line. Multivariate analysis was performed using Cox regression model. Results and discussion. 437 out of 8648 pts (5.17%) with a known mutational status had mBRAF (V600). Clinical data were collected from 131/437 (30%): the right-sided primary tumor – in 58,6%, left-sided – in 19%, rectum – in 21,4%. ORR in pts with mBRAF was 31%, median PFS was 6 months. We didn’t revealed any differences between FOLFOXIRI and doublets (XELOX/FOLFOX or XELIRI/FOLFIRI) in terms of PFS (HR 0.9, 95% CI 0.49–1.52, р = 0.6) and OS (HR 1.5, 95% CI 0.61–4.1, р = 0.35) in pts with mBRAF. Conclusions. The incidence of mBRAF gene in the population of pts with mCRC in the Russia is low and we found a high incidence of localization of the primary tumor in the rectum. We didn’t reveal any differences between the usual duplets and standard regimen for such mutation - FOLFOXIRI in term of 1 st line PFS.
