Adopting a quasi-experimental design with four points in measurement, this study developed and tested a model whose variables represented key elements of the sustainable career process as captured in ...up-to-date thinking. The model posited that employees' openness to experience and supervisor support for training would lead to increases in employees' job performance and employability via learning as the result of an employer-sponsored training course. Training represented the contribution of the employer, who is the other key stakeholder in sustainable careers. The model was tested on 334 salespersons who attended an in-house job training course. Job performance and employability, as assessed by line managers, increased substantially and significantly following the training with respect to their pre-training levels, and learning as a result of the training mediated the relationships of openness to experience and supervisor support with the increases in job performance and employability. Contrary to expectations of a positive synergy, a substitution effect was found between openness and supervisor support in fostering learning as result of training, and subsequently, increases in job performance and employability. The study provided a comprehensive albeit short-term picture of the sustainable careers process as conceptualized in the theoretical literature. In addition, it illustrated the effectiveness of job training in the enhancement of employability. The implications of the study for theory and further research on sustainable careers and employability are discussed.

Ginsenoside Rh2 (G-Rh2), a component extracted from roots of ginseng, exhibited anti-cancer pharmacological activities by inhibiting proliferation and inducing apoptosis in lung cancer cells. ...However, the mechanisms of G-Rh2 suppressing lung cancer development remained elusive. This study tried to investigate the possible mechanism involved in anti-proliferative effect of G-Rh2 in lung cancer cells. As results, G-Rh2 inhibited the proliferation of H1299 cells in a dose-dependent manner by inducing cell apoptosis. Activating transcription factor 4 (ATF4), CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein homologous protein (CHOP), and caspase-4 were involved in G-Rh2-induced apoptosis of H1299 cells. It was also found that G-Rh2 could up-regulate expressions of ATF4, CHOP and caspase-4 in H1299 cells in a dose-dependent manner. In addition, NAC (N-acetylcysteine, a reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenger) treatment dramatically decreased ROS generation in H1299 cells; both of NAC and 4-PBA (4-phenylbutyrate, a specific endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress inhibitor) administration impaired apoptosis and expression levels of ATF4, CHOP and caspase-4 in G-Rh2 incubated H1299 cells. In vivo assays extended the significance of these results, showing that G-Rh2 inhibited lung cancer growth and the inhibition effects of G-Rh2 in tumor growth were significantly reduced by inhibition of ER stress. In conclusion, G-Rh2 inhibited proliferation of H1299 cells by inducing ROS mediated ER stress dependent cell apoptosis.
Human resource (HR) practices are potent in shaping workplace social relationships, which play a crucial role in employees' well‐being. While the role of formal relationships (i.e., relationships ...based on prescribed work roles) has received relatively more research attention, little is known about the nexus between HR practices, informal relationships at work and employee well‐being. Drawing on social interdependence theory, we conducted two studies to investigate how high commitment work systems (HCWS) affect employee well‐being through workplace friendship, beyond the effects of formal interpersonal relationships. In Study 1, using time‐lagged data from a sample of 253 full‐time employees, we found that workplace friendship, a type of informal relationship at work, mediated the relationship between HCWS and employee well‐being. In addition, task interdependence strengthened the relationship between HCWS and workplace friendship as well as the indirect effect of HCWS on employee well‐being. In Study 2, we replicated these findings and extended them to multiple forms of well‐being using multilevel data collected at three time points from 310 employees in 61 organizations. Theoretical and practical implications of the findings as well as future research directions are discussed.

, it remains unknown whether SARS-CoV-2 has additional host species. Here we show that a coronavirus, which we name pangolin-CoV, isolated from a Malayan pangolin has 100%, 98.6%, 97.8% and 90.7% amino acid identity with SARS-CoV-2 in the E, M, N and S proteins, respectively. In particular, the receptor-binding domain of the S protein of pangolin-CoV is almost identical to that of SARS-CoV-2, with one difference in a noncritical amino acid. Our comparative genomic analysis suggests that SARS-CoV-2 may have originated in the recombination of a virus similar to pangolin-CoV with one similar to RaTG13. Pangolin-CoV was detected in 17 out of the 25 Malayan pangolins that we analysed. Infected pangolins showed clinical signs and histological changes, and circulating antibodies against pangolin-CoV reacted with the S protein of SARS-CoV-2. The isolation of a coronavirus from pangolins that is closely related to SARS-CoV-2 suggests that these animals have the potential to act as an intermediate host of SARS-CoV-2. This newly identified coronavirus from pangolins-the most-trafficked mammal in the illegal wildlife trade-could represent a future threat to public health if wildlife trade is not effectively controlled.

Rationale
Human exhaled breath usually contains unique proteins that may provide clues to characterize individual physiological activities and many diseases. However, the concentration of exhaled ...proteins in exhaled breath is extremely low and usually does not reach the detection limits of all online breath mass spectrometry instruments. Therefore, developing a new breath sampler for collecting and characterizing exhaled proteins is important.
Methods
In this study, a new mask‐based wearable sampler was developed by fixing metal materials into the inner surface of the KN95 mask. Human exhaled proteins could be directly adsorbed onto the metal material while wearing the mask. After sampling, the collected proteins were eluted, digested, and identified using nano‐liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (nano‐LC–MS/MS).
Results
The adsorption of exhaled proteins was evaluated, showing that modified gold foil is an effective material for collecting exhaled proteins. Various endogenous proteins were successfully identified from exhaled breath, many of which can be potential biomarkers for disease diagnosis.
Conclusions
By coupling the newly developed mask sampler with nano‐LC–MS/MS, human exhaled proteins were successfully collected and identified. Our results show that the mask sampler is wearable, simple, and convenient, and the method is noninvasive for investigating disease diagnosis and human health.

Cell proliferation, apoptosis, autophagy, oxidative stress and metabolic dysregulation are the basis of many diseases. Forkhead box transcription factor O1 (FOXO1) changes in response to cellular ...stimulation and maintains tissue homeostasis during the above-mentioned physiological and pathological processes. Substantial evidences indicate that FOXO1’s function depends on the modulation of downstream targets such as apoptosis- and autophagy-associated genes, anti-oxidative stress enzymes, cell cycle arrest genes, and metabolic and immune regulators. In addition, oxidative stress, high glucose and other stimulations induce the regulation of FOXO1 activity via PI3k-Akt, JNK, CBP, Sirtuins, ubiquitin E3 ligases, etc., which mediate multiple signalling pathways. Subsequent post-transcriptional modifications, including phosphorylation, ubiquitination, acetylation, deacetylation, arginine methylation and O-GlcNAcylation, activate or inhibit FOXO1. The regulation of FOXO1 and its role might provide a significant avenue for the prevention and treatment of diseases. However, the subtle mechanisms of the post-transcriptional modifications and the effect of FOXO1 remain elusive and even conflicting in the development of many diseases. The determination of these questions potentially has implications for further research regarding FOXO1 signalling and the identification of targeted drugs.

Whereas core self-evaluation (CSE) has been proposed as an antecedent of creativity, surprisingly, little research has examined it. Extending prior research on CSE, this study investigates when and ...how CSE relates to creativity. Drawing on the approach/avoidance theoretical framework (Elliot & Thrash, 2002), we propose that employee’s knowledge sharing behavior serves as a mechanism that links CSE to creativity. We further examine the positive moderating effect of work meaningfulness as an activator of the approach tendencies of high-CSE employees. We tested our hypotheses using two-wave multi-source data from a sample of 200 researchers and their supervisors. The results fully supported our hypotheses, and offered both theoretical implications and practical implications.
Liquid biopsy, characterized by minimally invasive detection through biofluids such as blood, saliva, and urine, has emerged as a revolutionary strategy for cancer diagnosis and prognosis prediction. ...Exosomes are a subset of extracellular vesicles (EVs) that shuttle molecular cargoes from donor cells to recipient cells and play a crucial role in mediating intercellular communication. Increasing studies suggest that exosomes have a great promise to serve as novel biomarkers in liquid biopsy, since large quantities of exosomes are enriched in body fluids and are involved in numerous physiological and pathological processes. However, the further clinical application of exosomes has been greatly restrained by the lack of high-quality separation and component analysis methods. This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview on the conventional and novel technologies for exosome isolation, characterization and content detection. Additionally, the roles of exosomes serving as potential biomarkers in liquid biopsy for the diagnosis, treatment monitoring, and prognosis prediction of cancer are summarized. Finally, the prospects and challenges of applying exosome-based liquid biopsy to precision medicine are evaluated.

An efficient continuous microalgae cultivation process for biomass production and nutrients removal from aquaculture wastewater was developed using a membrane photobioreactor (MPBR). Chlorella vulgaris and Scenedesmus obliquus were firstly batch cultured in aquaculture wastewater. C. vulgaris showed better performance with the specific growth rate of 0.17d−1 and was continuously cultivated in MPBR. The average volumetric biomass productivity in the MPBR operated at HRT of 1 day was 42.6mgL−1d−1, which was 5.8-fold larger than that achieved in batch cultivation in flask. Advanced nutrients removal from aquaculture wastewater was also achieved in MPBR. The average reduction in TN and TP was 86.1% and 82.7%, respectively, after stabilization. The corresponding effluent concentration was below 1.30 and 0.12mgL−1 for TN and TP, respectively. Unionized ammonia, which is usually toxic to aquatic animals, was also effectively removed in MPBR, with effluent concentration below 0.002mgL−1.

Drawing on the 4I organisational learning framework, this article develops a model to explain the multi‐level and cross‐level relationships between HRM practices and innovation. Individual‐, team‐ ...and organisational‐level learning stocks are theorised to explain how HRM practices affect innovation at a given level. Feed‐forward and feedback learning flows explain how cross‐level effects of HRM practices on innovation take place. In addition, we propose that HRM practices fostering individual‐, team‐ and organisational‐level learning should form a coherent system to facilitate the emergence of innovation. The article is concluded with discussions on its contributions and potential future research directions.
