Objective. To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Shenfu injection (SFI) for intradialytic hypotension (IDH). Methods. A systematic review of data sources published as of April 2014 was ...conducted. These included the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (2014 issue 4), Pubmed, Embase, CBM, CNKI, VIP, and Wangfang Data. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) involving SFI for treatment and prevention of IDH were identified. Two researchers independently selected articles, extracted data, assessed quality, and cross checked the results. Revman 5.2 was used to analyze the results. Results. Eight RCTs were included. The meta-analysis indicated that compared with conventional therapies alone, SFI could elevate systolic blood pressure (SBP), increase the clinical effective rate, decrease the incidence of hypotension, increase serum albumin (ALB) levels, and reduce C-reactive protein (CRP) levels without serious adverse effects. GRADE Quality of Evidence, the quality of SBP, the effective rate, ALB, and CRP were low, and hypotension incidence and DBP were very low. Conclusions. SFI is more effective than conventional therapies for prevention and treatment of IDH. However, a clinical recommendation is not warranted due to the small number of studies included and low methodology quality. Multi-center and high-quality RCTs with large sample sizes are needed to provide stronger evidence.

GABA transporter-1 (GAT1) plays a key role in GABA reuptake, and deletion of GAT1 leads to a largely increased GABA-induced tonic conductance in the GAT1−/− mice. We hypothesized that homeostatic ...plasticity of GABAA receptor-mediated inhibition takes place to balance the increased tonic inhibition and maintains stability of the nervous system. In this study, we employed the loss of righting reflex assay and compared the behavioral difference of three animal models, mice with acute, partial, and permanent GAT1 deficiency, to confirm our hypothesis. Our data demonstrated that both acute and partial block of GAT1 increased the sensitivity of mice to GABAergic sedative/hypnotic drugs, whereas permanent GAT1 dysfunction in the GAT1−/− mice decreased the sensitivity to some extent. These results confirmed our presumption about the down-regulation of phasic GABAergic transmission in the GAT1 knockout mice. Moreover, electrophysiological measurements performed on slices from motor cortex suggested that it was the reduced GABA release, but not change of postsynaptic GABA receptors, which led to the down-regulation of phasic inhibition in GAT1−/− mice.

The association between vitamin intake and gastric cancer (GC) has been widely debated due to the relatively weak evidence. In this study, a meta-analysis of prospective and well designed ...observational studies were performed to explore this association.
MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, and Sciencedirect were searched for studies of vitamin consumption and gastric cancer. This produced 47 relevant studies covering 1,221,392 human subjects. Random effects models were used to estimate summary relative risk (RR). Dose-response, subgroup, sensitivity, meta-regression, and publication bias analyses were conducted.
The RR of gastric cancer in the group with the highest vitamin intake was compared to that of the lowest intake group. Total vitamin intake was 0.78 (95% CI, 0.71-0.83). In 9 studies that individuals were given doses at least 4 times above the tolerable upper intake (UL) vitamins, the RR was 1.20 (95% CI, 0.99-1.44). However, in 17 studies that individuals received doses below the UL, the RR was 0.76 (95% CI, 0.68-0.86). Dose-response analysis was conducted on different increments in different types of vitamins (vitamin A: 1.5 mg/day, vitamin C: 100 mg/day, vitamin E: 10 mg/day) intake with a significant reduction in the risk of gastric cancer, respectively, 29% in vitamin A, 26% in vitamin C, and 24% in vitamin E.
This meta-analysis clearly demonstrated that low doses of vitamins can significantly reduce the risk of GC, especially vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E.

Since digital images are able to be encoded through the luminance-bandwidth-chrominance (YUV) mode, and the contribution of luminance information is greater than that of chrominance information for ...human visual perception, it can be inferred that the appropriate reduction of chrominance information in convolutional neural network does not disturb image object recognition. In this paper, we propose a new multi-scale non-uniform convolution called YuvConv, wherein the output feature map of the convolutional layer is regarded as an image. First, the output channels in the new convolution are divided into three kinds of components: Y, U, and V tensors. Then, the tensor Y is used to process luminance information, which is high-resolution and occupies more output channels. Next, the tensors U and V are low-resolution and use fewer channels to process chrominance information. Finally, the adjacent tensors (Y-U, Y-U-V, and U-V) are fused as the output of YuvConv. Experimental results indicate that the use of the YuvConv instead of the standard convolution can improve the performance of deep learning tasks, and it can also reduce memory consumption and computation cost.
Image salient object contours are helpful for many advanced computer vision tasks, such as object segmentation, action recognition, and scene understanding. We propose a new contour extraction method ...for salient objects based on pixel scale knowledge and hierarchical network structure, which improves the accuracy of object contours. First, a deep hierarchical network is designed to capture rich feature details. Then, a new loss function with adaptive weighted coefficients is developed, which can reduce the uneven distribution influence of contour pixels and non-contour pixels in training datasets. Next, the object contours are classified based on the scale information of contour pixels. By importing the prior knowledge of scale categories into the network structure, the model requires a small number of training samples. Finally, the regression task of contour scale prediction is added to the network, and the precise contour scales of foreground objects are performed as prior knowledge or an auxiliary task. The experimental results demonstrate that compared with related methods, the proposed method achieves satisfactory results from precision/recall curves and F-measure score estimation on three datasets.

Methylprednisolone is recommended as the front-line therapy for radiation-induced brain necrosis (RN) after radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma. However, some patients fail to benefit from ...methylprednisolone or even progress. This study aimed to develop and validate a radiomic model to predict the response to methylprednisolone in RN.
Sixty-six patients receiving methylprednisolone were enrolled. In total, 961 radiomic features were extracted from the pre-treatment magnetic resonance imagings of the brain. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression was then applied to construct the radiomics signature. Combined with independent clinical predictors, a radiomics model was built with multivariate logistic regression analysis. Discrimination, calibration and clinical usefulness of the model were assessed. The model was internally validated using 10-fold cross-validation.
The radiomics signature consisted of 16 selected features and achieved favorable discrimination performance. The radiomics model incorporating the radiomics signature and the duration between radiotherapy and RN diagnosis, yielded an AUC of 0.966 and an optimism-corrected AUC of 0.967 via 10-fold cross-validation, which also revealed good discrimination. Calibration curves showed good agreement. Decision curve analysis confirmed the clinical utility of the model.
The presented radiomics model can be conveniently used to facilitate individualized prediction of the response to methylprednisolone in patients with RN.

As an edible oil, palm oil is also safe and reliable in dyeing, and the residual palm oil after dyeing can be recycled and used continuously, which is green and environmentally friendly and has great ...research prospects. In this research, raw ramie yarn, used for traditional grass cloth, was dyed in a palm oil medium using Reactive Blue 194. Studying the adsorption and diffusion behaviour in the dyeing process is necessary. Additionally, the kinetics and isotherm model of dyeing raw ramie yarn with Reactive Blue 194 in palm oil is studied, and the adsorption behaviour between them is discussed. For a better understanding, the raw ramie yarn dyeing adsorption behaviour was also carried out in a water medium. It was found that the dyeing rates in palm oil are distinctly faster than in water. Kinetics data suggested that the pseudo-second-order model fitted for both dyeing mediums (palm oil and water) of the adsorption of the Reactive Blue 194 dye onto raw ramie yarn. Afterward, the adsorption isotherms’ results denote that the Langmuir model was suitable for palm oil dyeing medium while the Freundlich model was suited for water medium. Overall, this study has demonstrated that raw ramie yarn dyeing in a palm oil medium could be a sustainable colouration route for textile fibres with a greater dye exhaustion percentage.

BackgroundIt has been acknowledged that the tumour immune microenvironment (TIME) plays a critical role in determining therapeutic responses and clinical outcomes in breast cancer (BrCa). Thus, the ...identification of the TIME features is essential for guiding therapy and prognostic assessment for BrCa.MethodsThe heterogeneous cellular composition of the TIME in BrCa by single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq). Two subtype-special genes upregulated in the tumour-rich subtype and the immune-infiltrating subtype were extracted, respectively. The CRABP2/CD69 signature was established based on CRABP2 and CD69 expression, and its predictive values for the clinical outcome and the neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAT) responses were validated in multiple cohorts. Moreover, the oncogenic role of CRABP2 was explored in BrCa cells.ResultsBased on the heterogeneous cellular composition of the TIME in BrCa, the BrCa samples could be divided into the tumour-rich subtype and the immune-infiltrating subtype, which exhibited distinct prognosis and chemotherapeutic responses. Next, we extracted CRABP2 as the biomarker for the tumour-rich subtype and CD69 as the biomarker for the immune-infiltrating subtype. Based on the CRABP2/CD69 signature, BrCa samples were re-divided into three subtypes, and the CRABP2highCD69low subtype exhibited the worst prognosis and the lowest chemotherapeutic response, while the CRABP2lowCD69high subtype showed the opposite results. Furthermore, CARBP2 functioned as a novel oncogene in BrCa, which promoted tumour cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, and CRABP2 inhibition triggered the activation of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs).ConclusionThe CRABP2/CD69 signature is significantly associated with the TIME features and could effectively predict the clinical outcome. Also, CRABP2 is determined to be a novel oncogene, which could be a therapeutic target in BrCa.

Trademark orthogonal representation is an important research field in artificial intelligence technology and has extensive applications in trademark retrieval and recognition. However, the Gibbs ...phenomenon arises when complex trademark shapes are represented by using traditional methods, such as continuous orthogonal function and wavelet. In order to represent the complex trademark without Gibbs phenomenon, a novel method named hierarchical V-system (HV system) is proposed in this study, which is generated by V-system of multi-degree <inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">k </tex-math></inline-formula> (<inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">k = 0, 1, 2, 3 </tex-math></inline-formula>). The hierarchical structure brings more detailed shape representation information. We show that the proposed method in this paper can represent the trademark shapes with fewer finite terms and obtain accurate representation result. This study also proposes the normalized descriptors of hierarchical V-system (HV descriptors). Furthermore, we demonstrate that the HV descriptors satisfy the invariance in rotation, translation, and scale transform. The experimental results show that the hierarchical V-system method can give reasonable descriptors for representing complex trademark without Gibbs phenomenon.
The research on advanced functional polymers is being driven by the fast-growing demand for new functional materials that can be used in revolutionary technologies. Polymers can be endowed with ...functions by using certain special preparation methods or by introducing functional groups or fillers into materials. These functions are either intrinsically possessed by materials or actuated by external stimuli. In this review, we present an overview of the recent developments made in the research hotspots of functional polymers, encompassing polymerization methodologies, luminescent polymers, photovoltaic polymers, other electronic and optical polymers (including low-

polyimides and second-order nonlinear optical polymers), biorelated polymers (particularly those for biomedical applications), supramolecular polymers, stimuli-responsive polymers, shape-memory polymers, separation polymer membranes, energy storage polymers, and covalent organic framework polymers. The concepts, design strategies at the molecular level, preparation methods, classifications, properties, potential applications, and recent progress made in such polymers are summarized. Challenges and future perspectives of each type of functional polymers are also addressed, including research efforts regarding the design and fabrication of functional polymers for serving the increasing demand for new materials.
This review presents the recent developments in the research hotspots of advanced functional polymers; their concepts, design strategies, and applications are briefly discussed.
