Extracting object skeleton and its scale features in natural images is helpful for object detection and recognition in computer vision. In order to advance the location accuracy of object skeleton ...pixels, a new method via multi-task and variable coefficient loss function is proposed in this paper. Adopting the hierarchical integration mechanism to mutually refine captured features at different network layers; a specific variable coefficient loss function is designed for multi-class imbalanced data handling problem, such as the skeleton pixels in natural images are always far less than the non-skeleton pixels; the regression algorithm is an added deep learning branch in the skeleton extraction network assisting the improvement of recognition accuracy. Besides, not only the skeleton pixels and its classification can be obtained, but also its scales are predicted without disturbing skeleton acquisition process. The experimental results verify that both the skeleton accuracy and the generalization abilities are promoted benefiting from the regression task and the new loss function in the new method, as satisfactory results are achieved on three public datasets, i.e., SK-LARGE, SK-SMALL, and WH-SYMMAX, which are indicated by F-measures and precision/recall curves. The results further demonstrate that the proposed method is superior to the best skeleton extraction method available currently.
Background:
Elevated blood pressure (BP) can cause blood–brain barrier disruption and facilitates brain edema formation. We aimed to investigate the association of BP level after thrombectomy with ...the development of malignant cerebral edema (MCE) in patients treated with endovascular thrombectomy (EVT).
Methods:
Consecutive patients who underwent EVT for an anterior circulation ischemic stroke were enrolled from three comprehensive stroke centers. BP was measured hourly during the first 24 h after thrombectomy. MCE was defined as swelling causing a midline shift on the follow-up imaging within 5 days after EVT. Associations of various BP parameters, including mean BP, maximum BP (BP
max
), and BP variability (BPV), with the development of MCE were analyzed.
Results:
Of the 498 patients (mean age 66.9 ± 11.7 years, male 58.2%), 97 (19.5%) patients developed MCE. Elevated mean systolic BP (SBP) (OR, 1.035; 95% CI, 1.006–1.065;
P
= 0.017) was associated with a higher likelihood of MCE. The best SBP
max
threshold that predicted the development of MCE was 165 mmHg. Additionally, increases in BPV, as evaluated by SBP standard deviation (OR, 1.061; 95% CI, 1.003–1.123;
P
= 0.039), were associated with higher likelihood of MCE.
Interpretation:
Elevated mean SBP and BPV were associated with a higher likelihood of MCE. Having a SBP
max
> 165 mm Hg was the best threshold to discriminate the development of MCE. These results suggest that continuous BP monitoring after EVT could be used as a non-invasive predictor for clinical deterioration due to MCE. Randomized clinical studies are warranted to address BP goal after thrombectomy.
Traditional grass cloth has been used in China for a long time for the manufacturing of various household furnishing textiles and ladieswear. However, traditionally the grass cloth is dyed with ...reactive dyes in an aqueous medium, but the dyeing process is not sustainable because of high energy and water usage and the production of coloured effluent. In this work, the possibility of palm oil/water dual-phase dyeing of traditional grass cloth with a reactive dye, C.I. Reactive Blue 194 (Reactive Blue 194), was explored. The grass cloth soaked in an alkaline solution with 80-140% pick-up was dyed in a palm oil dyebath containing dye powder dispersed in a palm oil medium. The initial study confirmed that the pre-treatment of the fabric with an alkaline solution with 140% pick-up was beneficial for the uniform distribution of the dye in the fibres. The dyeing process parameters (
e.g.
, fixation temperature, solution pH, and fixation time) for the grass cloth dyeing with the Reactive Blue 194 were optimised by using the Taguchi method. The pH of the alkali pre-treatment solution was found to be the most influential factor, as confirmed by the analysis of variance in terms of the percentage of contribution (94.41%), which was statistically significant (
P
< 0.05). The confirmation tests were carried out under optimal settings, and a higher
K
/
S
(24.06) was found compared with the initial condition (21.51). X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that the dyeing process did not affect the crystallinity of the grass cloth fibres. Furthermore, the recovery of palm oil from the spent dyebath was around 99%, and up to five times recycling and reuse of palm oil were studied for the dyeing of grass cloth. The colour strength of the grass cloths dyed in the palm oil recycled up to five times was similar to the cloth dyed in fresh palm oil. The results show that palm oil can be used as a dyeing medium for the sustainable dyeing of grass cloth with effluent reduction, which can be extended to the dyeing of other textile fibres.

Industry structures and the availability and utilization of internal corporate resources are two key determinants of profit persistence. The theories behind industrial organization and the ...resource-based view of the firm offer different conclusions on which determinant matters most. Based on a large sample of Chinese machinery manufacturing companies listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share market between 2001 and 2010, the present study analyzes and compares the relative degrees of importance of industry and firm effects on profit persistence. The results indicate that firm effects persist longer than industry effects, therefore supporting the hypotheses of the resource-based view. Studies in this field have used different research subjects, research backgrounds, study periods and criteria for profit partition, factors which contribute to the differences in research results.

The exact mechanisms that acetamide and glycerol interact with cell membrane remains a matter of debate.
To investigate the microscopic interactions of acetamide and glycerol with phospholipid ...bilayers at various temperatures.
Molecular dynamics simulations of a hydrated dipalmitoyl-phosphatidylcholine (DPPC) bilayer in the presence of glycerol and acetamide were performed. The system contains 128 lipids and about 700 cryoprotectant molecules, and simulations extended to 15 ns.
When compared to glycerol, acetamide shows a stronger affinity with water rather than the lipid bilayer.
The knowledge of the mixing dynamics of present system helps to develop better cryoprotective formulas and to propose more optimal cooling/warming protocols.
The Chinese Society of Hepatology developed the current guidelines for the Management of Ascites and Its Related Complications in Cirrhosis based on the published evidences and the panelists’ ...consensus. The guidelines provided recommendations for the diagnosis and management of cirrhotic ascites emphasizing a step-wise approach with the first-, second-, and third-line therapy. For refractory ascites, vasoconstrictors and albumin are recommended for splanchnic vasodilation and selective vasopressin (V2) receptor antagonists for moderate-to-severe hyponatremia. For spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, empirical anti-infection treatment was recommended based on the local microbiological examination of community- or hospital-acquired infections. For hepatorenal syndrome, the administration of vasopressor terlipressin and albumin is recommended.

Abstract
Background
Ischemic stroke is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality. Thrombolytic therapy improves disability and survival rates; however, to be effective, it must be given within 4.5 h ...of onset. Moreover, thrombolytic therapy is frequently contraindicated. Therefore, alternative therapeutic options are required. In China, cinepazide maleate injection has been shown to improve the cerebral collateral circulation and further reduce disability in stroke patients; however, very few studies investigating this therapy have been conducted to date. Therefore, this study aimed to further confirm the efficacy and safety of cinepazide maleate injection in patients with acute ischemic stroke.
Methods
Patients with acute ischemic stroke were administered an intravenous infusion of 320 mg cinepazide maleate or placebo once daily for 14 days. All patients were also administered basic therapy (citicoline sodium). The primary efficacy endpoint was the proportion of patients with a modified Rankin scale (mRS) ≤2 on day 90. Secondary efficacy endpoints included Barthel Index ≥95. Safety was evaluated by recording all adverse events (AEs), monitoring laboratory parameters and vital signs, and electrocardiogram.
Results
In total, 937 patients with an acute ischemic stroke were included, with a mean (standard deviation, SD) National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score of 8.8 (2.4) and a mean (SD) stroke onset of 30.9 (11.4) hours prior. Following treatment for 90 days, the proportion of patients with an mRS score ≤ 2 was significantly higher in the cinepazide maleate group than in the control group (60.9% vs. 50.1%;
p
= 0.0004). Moreover, the proportion of patients with a Barthel Index of ≥95 on day 90 was also significantly higher in the cinepazide maleate group than in the control group (53.4% vs. 46.7%;
p
= 0.0230). There were no statistically significant differences in safety parameters between the cinepazide maleate and control groups.
Conclusions
The results of this study show that cinepazide maleate injection is superior to placebo in improving neurological function and activities of daily living, reducing disability, and promoting functional recovery in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Cinepazide maleate injection was safe and well tolerated with no unexpected AEs reported.

To study the material basis of Dracocephalum moldavica for protecting cardiomyocyte against hypoxia/ reoxygenation injury by using traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) serum chemical and ...pharmacological methods.
The extract of D. moldavica (DME) and its content absorbed into blood were determined, while blank serum and medicinal serum of rats before and after intragastrical administration of DME were also compared by HPLC. The Na2S2O4 or N2-based hypoxia/reoxygenation injury model was established by cultivating primary neonate rat cardiomyocytes or H9c2 cells in vitro. Cell viability, LDH release, T-SOD activity, MDA production and apoptosis were detected to learn the effect of DME, medicated serum and different treatments of medicinal serums under different dosage and action duration of DME on cardiomyocyte against hypoxia/reoxygenation injury.
Four transitional components of DME absorbed into blood after intragastrical administration were found, three of which were original components and one possible metabolite. Furthermore, compared with the model group or the blank serum group, LDH release and MDA production (P < 0.05, P < 0.01) of DME extracts, medicated serum or different treatments of medicinal serum under different dosage and action duration of DME. However, T-SOD and cell viability were improved significantly (P < 0.05, P < 0.01), while apoptosis of cardiomyocytes were also obviously inhibited.
The four components absorbed into blood are probably the material basis of DME used for protecting cardiomyocyte agastin hypoxia/reoxygenation injury.
The geometric models of the hydraulic turnover device are constructed by using three -dimensional modeling software UG, and then they are induced into simulation software ADAMS by a sharing data ...format. By using ADAMS, models are further simplified and the virtual prototype is established. By using the associated model, the simulation of the hydraulic turnover device is analyzed in ADAMS. Compared with the traditional methods of using physical prototypes, the movement processes and relevant parameters of the hydraulic turnover device can be effectively obtained by means of this method. Furthermore, the quality of the constraint relations between the parts is very important in terms of the accuracy of the model simulation analysis. This simulation results accord with the practical situation, which indicates that the operation is stable and the efficiency is high. It provides a theoretical basis for the practical design of the hydraulic turnover device, which shows that the combination of ADAMS and UG works well.

Abstract
CuIn1-xGaxS2 (CIGS) nanocrystals (NCs) were synthesized by a heating method. Lattice structure and optical properties of the samples were measured by X-ray diffraction, ...absorption spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Raman spectroscopy. X-ray diffraction results showed that the CIGS NCs have chalcopyrite structure, and theirlattice constant was related to the molar ratio of Ga in the NCs. The higher the molar ratio of Ga, the smaller the lattice constant. The size of the NCs was confirmed to be about 15 nm by X-ray diffraction and TEM. The energy gap of the NCs determined by absorption spectra was between 1.05 to 1.72 eV. Results of absorption measurement also showed that the energy gap was a quadratic function of the mole ratio of Ga. The higher the molar ratio of Ga, the larger the energy gap. The results of Raman spectroscopy showed that the main vibration signal of the CIGS NCs shifted from 178 cm-1 to 186 cm-1 as the molar ratio of Ga increased. The frequ
