Whether the shortages of non-COVID-19-related health-care provisions will affect oncological and cardiovascular mortality is too early to predict.10,11 Finally, we must focus on improving future research, prospectively collecting all relevant data considering the specific local background, encouraging international collaboration, and setting a clear goal to stop, contain, control, delay, and reduce the effects of this virus at every opportunity, never forgetting that we will keep fighting together on behalf of our patients with cancer.

Background
The goal of mastectomy is remove all of the glandular breast tissue (BGT) without compromising skin flaps viability. The purpose of this systematic review was to localize and/or estimate ...the amount of residual BGT (rBGT) after mastectomy and to identify factors that could be related to rBGT and/or residual disease.
Methods
We conducted a PubMed search. The report was subdivided according to the method used to evaluate the presence of rBGT. A total of 16 publications were included in our final report. Two main methods for identifying rBGT included imaging (i.e., MRI scan) and histological evaluation at the time of mastectomy.
Results
The rate of rBGT was reported in up to 100% of the patients and was found to be associated mainly with the type of surgical resection, indication, and surgeon’s expertise. Residual breast tissue can be found in all areas of the remaining chest wall, mostly in the skin-flaps, and more frequently underneath the nipple-areola complex.

Computer-aided detection and diagnosis (CAD) systems have been developed in the past two decades to assist radiologists in the detection and diagnosis of lesions seen on breast imaging exams, thus ...providing a second opinion. Mammographic databases play an important role in the development of algorithms aiming at the detection and diagnosis of mammary lesions. However, available databases often do not take into consideration all the requirements needed for research and study purposes. This article aims to present and detail a new mammographic database.
Images were acquired at a breast center located in a university hospital (Centro Hospitalar de S. João CHSJ, Breast Centre, Porto) with the permission of the Portuguese National Committee of Data Protection and Hospital's Ethics Committee. MammoNovation Siemens full-field digital mammography, with a solid-state detector of amorphous selenium was used.
The new database-INbreast-has a total of 115 cases (410 images) from which 90 cases are from women with both breasts affected (four images per case) and 25 cases are from mastectomy patients (two images per case). Several types of lesions (masses, calcifications, asymmetries, and distortions) were included. Accurate contours made by specialists are also provided in XML format.
The strengths of the actually presented database-INbreast-relies on the fact that it was built with full-field digital mammograms (in opposition to digitized mammograms), it presents a wide variability of cases, and is made publicly available together with precise annotations. We believe that this database can be a reference for future works centered or related to breast cancer imaging.
The 3rd International Consensus Conference for Breast Cancer in Young Women (BCY3) took place in November 2016, in Lugano, Switzerland organized by the European School of Oncology (ESO) and the ...European Society of Medical Oncologists (ESMO). Consensus recommendations for the management of breast cancer in young women were updated from BCY2 with incorporation of new evidence to inform the guidelines, and areas of research priorities were identified. This manuscript summarizes the ESO-ESMO international consensus recommendations, which are also endorsed by the European Society of Breast Specialists (EUSOMA).

The occurrence of a representative range of pharmaceutical compounds (PhCs) in urban wastewaters was studied in two Portuguese water-scarce regions (Lisbon great area, and Faro - Algarve), involving ...55 sampling campaigns during 2.5 years. The results show 16 PhCs (out of the 24 analysed) were quantified in all samples, with similar concentrations in both wastewaters. To understand to what extent seasonality affects PhC occurrence, a statistical analysis was conducted, and daily maximum air temperature was identified as a key factor, with a turning point of 20°C in Lisbon and 22°C in Faro. Some PhCs showed lower concentrations in colder (wet) months due to rainwater dilution (combined sewer systems), whereas others showed higher concentrations, reflecting an increased seasonal consumption and/or slower transformation under lower temperatures and/or shorter hydraulic retention times. Seasonal studies should therefore focus on temperature rather than on calendar seasons, increasingly uncertain due to climate change.

Reducing CO2 is a challenging chemical transformation that biology solves easily, with high efficiency and specificity. In particular, formate dehydrogenases are of great interest since they reduce ...CO2 to formate, a valuable chemical fuel and hydrogen storage compound. The metal-dependent formate dehydrogenases of prokaryotes can show high activity for CO2 reduction. Here, we report an expression system to produce recombinant W/Sec-FdhAB from Desulfovibrio vulgaris Hildenborough fully loaded with cofactors, its catalytic characterization and crystal structures in oxidized and reduced states. The enzyme has very high activity for CO2 reduction and displays remarkable oxygen stability. The crystal structure of the formate-reduced enzyme shows Sec still coordinating the tungsten, supporting a mechanism of stable metal coordination during catalysis. Comparison of the oxidized and reduced structures shows significant changes close to the active site. The DvFdhAB is an excellent model for studying catalytic CO2 reduction and probing the mechanism of this conversion.

To predict protective immunity to SARS-CoV-2, cellular immunity seems to be more sensitive than humoral immunity. Through an Interferon-Gamma (IFN-γ) Release Assay (IGRA), we show that, despite a ...marked decrease in total antibodies, 94.3% of 123 healthcare workers have a positive cellular response 6 months after inoculation with the 2nd dose of BNT162b2 vaccine. Despite the qualitative relationship found, we did not observe a quantitative correlation between IFN-γ and IgG levels against SARS-CoV-2. Using stimulated whole blood from a subset of participants, we confirmed the specific T-cell response to SARS-CoV-2 by dosing elevated levels of the IL-6, IL-10 and TNF-α. Through a 20-month follow-up, we found that none of the infected participants had severe COVID-19 and that the first positive cases were only 12 months after the 2nd dose inoculation. Future studies are needed to understand if IGRA-SARS-CoV-2 can be a powerful diagnostic tool to predict future COVID-19 severe disease, guiding vaccination policies.
