El estudio desarrollado en estas páginas tiene como objetivo indagar sobre el papel de los lectores europeos y su función en la teoría literaria clásica china a través de Wenxin diaolong (WXDL, El ...corazón de la literatura y el cincelado de dragones) de Liu Xie (465-522), el canon que suele compararse con la Poética de Aristóteles. Ante todo, partiendo del concepto del papel del lector, se observa una representación de chinoiserie, probablemente con un cierto desequilibrio, entre el conocimiento de la poética china y el de la europea. A continuación, se revisa sistemáticamente la recepción de la obra tanto en el mundo anglohablante como en el europeo para conocer el perfil de los lectores. Dado el pedigrí multicultural de WXDL y sus traducciones, se percibe que las diversas contribuciones de la obra destacan la evolución del pensamiento literario chino en Europa. Así, se encontrará un ritmo, un itinerario y un diálogo más apropiado para la poética universal.
Transition‐metal selenides (TMSs) have emerged as prospective anode materials for sodium ion batteries (SIBs), owing to their considerable theoretical capacity and intrinsic high electronic ...conductivity. Whereas, TMSs still suffer from poor rate capability and inferior cycling stability induced by sluggish kinetics and severe volume changes during de/sodiation processes. Herein, a hierarchical composite consisting of a zinc‐cobalt bimetallic selenide yolk and nitrogen‐doped double carbon shell (denoted as ZnCoSe@NDC) is engineered and fabricated successfully. The architecture of the as‐fabricated material improves the Na‐ion storage performance via increasing the electron transfer kinetics, accommodating volume expansion, and mitigating the generation of by‐products. As expected, the ZnCoSe@NDC electrode delivers superior sodium storage performance with long cycling stability (344.5 mAh g−1 at 5.0 A g−1 over 2000 long‐term cycles) and high‐rate performance (319.2 mAh g−1 at 10.0 A g−1). Meanwhile, the NVP@C//ZnCoSe@NDC full SIB cells are constructed successfully, retaining 96.3% of its initial capacity at 0.5A g−1 after 200 loops. The outstanding electrochemical performance and the construction of hybrid SIBs will have far‐reaching influences on the development of the various rechargeable batteries.
A yolk‐shell‐structured zinc‐cobalt binary metal selenide @ nitrogen‐doped dual carbon nanocomposite (Zn‐Co‐Se@NDC) is reported. The continuous nitrogen‐doped carbon shell and internal voids can promote the ionic/electron transport and stabilize structures of electrodes upon cycling. When used as a promising anode for sodium ion batteries, the hybrid composites manifest superior electrochemical performance with high reversible capacity, long‐term cyclic stability and excellent rate capability.

El objetivo de este trabajo consiste en estudiar la traducción de los elementos eróticos de la novela Jin Ping Mei (1617?), basándonos en el texto original chino y en sus dos traducciones al ...castellano. El trabajo parte del conjunto de análisis de la palabra eufemística gui (la tortuga) y su abanico de términos relacionados. A continuación, observamos las estrategias de traducción que aplican ambos traductores. Finalmente, las conclusiones nos permiten estudiar tanto las soluciones adoptadas para cada elemento erótico, como hacer una reflexión acerca de la traducción de la lectura erótica.

Background: To investigate all-cause and cause-specific mortality in Taiwanese patients with type 1 diabetes.Methods: A cohort of 17,203 patients with type 1 diabetes were identified from Taiwan’s ...National Health Insurance claims in the period of 1998–2014. Person-years were accumulated for each individual from date of type 1 diabetes registration to date of death or the last day of 2014. Age, sex, and calendar year standardized mortality ratios (SMRs) were calculated with reference to the general population.Results: In up to 17 years of follow-up, 4,916 patients died from 182,523 person-years. Diabetes (30.15%), cancer (20.48%), circulatory diseases (13.14%), and renal diseases (11.45%) were the leading underlying causes of death. Mortality rate (26.93 per 1,000 person-years) from type 1 diabetes in Taiwan was high, the cause of death with the highest mortality rate was diabetes (8.12 per 1,000 person-years), followed by cancer (5.52 per 1,000 person-years), and circulatory diseases (3.54 per 1,000 person-years). The all-cause SMR was significantly elevated at 4.16 (95% confidence interval, 4.04–4.28), with a greater all-cause SMR noted in females than in males (4.62 vs 3.79). The cause-specific SMR was highly elevated for diabetes (SMR, 16.45), followed by renal disease (SMR, 14.48), chronic hepatitis and liver cirrhosis (SMR, 4.91) and infection (SMR, 4.59). All-cause SMRs were also significantly increased for all ages, with the greatest figure noted for 15–24 years (SMR, 8.46).Conclusions: Type 1 diabetes in both genders and all ages was associated with significantly elevated SMRs for all-cause and mostly for diabetes per se and renal disease.

Even though the increasing clinical recognition of primary aldosteronism (PA) as a public health issue, its heightened risk profiles and the availability of targeted surgical/medical treatment being ...more understood, consensus in its diagnosis and management based on medical evidence, while recognizing the constraints of our real-world clinical practice in Taiwan, has not been reached.
The Taiwan Society of Aldosteronism (TSA) Task Force acknowledges the above-mentioned issues and reached this Taiwan PA consensus at its inaugural meeting, in order to provide updated information of internationally acceptable standards, and also to incorporate our local disease characteristics into the management of PA.
When there is suspicion of PA, a plasma aldosterone to renin ratio (ARR) should be obtained initially. Patients with abnormal ARR will undergo confirmatory laboratory and image tests. Subtype classification with adrenal venous sampling (AVS) or NP-59 nuclear imaging, if AVS not available, to lateralize PA is recommended when patients are considered for adrenalectomy. The strengths and weaknesses of the currently available identification methods are discussed, focusing especially on result interpretation.
With this consensus we hope to raise more awareness of PA among medical professionals and hypertensive patients in Taiwan, and to facilitate reconciliation of better detection, identification and treatment of patients with PA.

Aims and Objectives
To develop a Chinese version of a chronic wound health‐related quality of life (QoL) instrument and to examine the psychometric properties of this instrument.
Background
Existing ...QoL instruments are not tailored to the linguistic and cultural characteristics of Chinese‐speaking patients; a version addressing this gap will increase clinical understanding of their healthcare experience and may help guide chronic wound care.
Design
A methodological study.
Methods
The method advanced by DeVellis (2017) was used to develop the instrument. An initial pool of 38 items was created. To optimize scale length and test reliability and validity, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were conducted. A total of 23 items formed the final pool. After two rounds of expert discussions, the average content validity index of the final 23 items was .89.
Results
A total of 226 patients completed the instrument and were divided into two groups for further analysis. Exploratory factor analysis revealed that 15 items remained in four factors (social activity restrictions, physical and psychological disturbance, wound burden and daily life limitation), which accounted for 64.87% of the variance. Confirmatory factor analysis revealed an acceptable fit of the hypothesized factor structure and the convergent and discriminant validities were achieved. Cronbach's α coefficients for each factor were .807, .773, .799 and .713, respectively.
Conclusion
The Chinese version of a chronic wound health‐related QoL instrument consists of 15 items in four subscales and demonstrates good reliability and validity.
Relevance to Clinical Practice
This instrument can be used intermittently or continuously to evaluate the treatment effect of chronic wounds by assessing health‐related QoL. Scholars in Chinese‐speaking regions may find this culturally compatible instrument useful when conducting studies related to chronic wounds.

G protein‐coupled estrogen receptor‐1 (GPER), a member of the G protein‐coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily, mediates estrogen‐induced proliferation of normal and malignant breast epithelial cells. ...However, its role in breast cancer stem cells (BCSCs) remains unclear. Here we showed greater expression of GPER in BCSCs than non‐BCSCs of three patient‐derived xenografts of ER−/PR+ breast cancers. GPER silencing reduced stemness features of BCSCs as reflected by reduced mammosphere forming capacity in vitro, and tumor growth in vivo with decreased BCSC populations. Comparative phosphoproteomics revealed greater GPER‐mediated PKA/BAD signaling in BCSCs. Activation of GPER by its ligands, including tamoxifen (TMX), induced phosphorylation of PKA and BAD‐Ser118 to sustain BCSC characteristics. Transfection with a dominant‐negative mutant BAD (Ser118Ala) led to reduced cell survival. Taken together, GPER and its downstream signaling play a key role in maintaining the stemness of BCSCs, suggesting that GPER is a potential therapeutic target for eradicating BCSCs.

However, the role of GPER in breast cancer stem cells (BCSC) biology remains unclear. Here, using patient‐derived xenografts of ER–/PR+ breast cancer, the authors found higher expression of GPER in BCSCs than non‐BCSCs. Moreover, the results indicated that stemness features were sustained via GPER‐mediated PKA/BAD phosphorylation. Stimulation by the GPER ligand tamoxifen enhanced BCSC cell viability and population and BAD phosphorylation. The findings revealed a vital role of GPER‐mediated signaling pathways in BCSC survival, suggesting GPER as a potential therapeutic target for eradicating BCSCs.

Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is a hypertensive heart disease that significantly escalates the risk of clinical cardiovascular events. Its etiology potentially incorporates various clinical ...attributes such as gender, age, and renal function. From mechanistic perspective, the remodeling process of LVH can trigger increment in certain biomarkers, notably sST2 and NT-proBNP. This multicenter, retrospective study aimed to construct an LVH risk assessment model and identify the risk factors. A total of 417 patients with essential hypertension (EH), including 214 males and 203 females aged 31-80 years, were enrolled in this study; of these, 161 (38.6%) were diagnosed with LVH. Based on variables demonstrating significant disparities between the LVH and Non-LVH groups, three multivariate stepwise logistic regression models were constructed for risk assessment: the "Clinical characteristics" model, the "Biomarkers" model (each based on their respective variables), and the "Clinical characteristics + Biomarkers" model, which amalgamated both sets of variables. The results revealed that the "Clinical characteristics + Biomarkers" model surpassed the baseline models in performance (AUC values of the "Clinical characteristics + Biomarkers" model, the "Biomarkers" model, and the "Clinical characteristics" model were .83, .75, and .74, respectively; P < .0001 for both comparisons). The optimized model suggested that being female (OR: 4.26, P <.001), being overweight (OR: 1.88, p = .02) or obese (OR: 2.36, p = .02), duration of hypertension (OR: 1.04, P = .04), grade III hypertension (OR: 2.12, P < .001), and sST2 (log-transformed, OR: 1.14, P < .001) were risk factors, while eGFR acted as a protective factor (OR: .98, P = .01). These findings suggest that the integration of clinical characteristics and biomarkers can enhance the performance of LVH risk assessment.

Background: We aimed to investigate associations between exposure to various trajectories of severe hypoglycemic events and risk of dementia in patients with type 2 diabetes.Methods: In 2002–2003, ...677,618 patients in Taiwan were newly diagnosed as having type 2 diabetes. Among them, 35,720 (5.3%) experienced severe hypoglycemic events during the 3-year baseline period following diagnosis. All patients were followed from the first day after baseline period to the date of dementia diagnosis, death, or the end of 2011. A group-based trajectory model was used to classify individuals with severe hypoglycemic events during the baseline period. Cox proportional hazard models with the competing risk method were used to relate dementia risk to various severe hypoglycemia trajectories.Results: After a median follow-up 6.70 and 6.10 years for patients with and without severe hypoglycemia at baseline, respectively, 1,952 (5.5%) individuals with severe hypoglycemia and 23,492 (3.7%) without developed dementia during follow-up, for incidence rates of 109.80 and 61.88 per 10,000 person-years, respectively. Four groups of severe hypoglycemia trajectory were identified with a proportion of 18.06%, 33.19%, 43.25%, and 5.50%, respectively, for Groups 1 to 4. Groups 3 (early manifestation but with later decrease) and 4 (early and sustained manifestation) were associated with a significantly increased risk of dementia diagnosis, with a covariate-adjusted subdistribution hazard ratio of 1.22 (95% confidence interval, 1.14–1.31) and 1.25 (95% confidence interval, 1.02–1.54), respectively.Conclusion: Our analysis highlighted that early manifestation of severe hypoglycemic events may contribute more than does late manifestation to the risk of dementia among individuals newly diagnosed as having type 2 diabetes.
